First I was so excited I didn’t have to cook! Our first beef rib order and it did not disappoint! They are so big I could only eat one! So tender and full of flavor! The fried squash and black eyed peas peas were so delish! Can’t wait til next Tuesday to repeat❣️
If you love beef ribs, Woody's on Tuesdays is a must. These are some of the best I've ever had—huge, smoky, incredibly tender, and packed with flavor. One rib is almost a meal by itself! The homemade mac & cheese, fries, and cornbread were all excellent, and my margarita was made fresh from scratch, not poured from a premixed bucket. You can really taste the difference. Great food, generous portions, fair prices, and friendly people. Beef ribs are hard to find, and Woody's absolutely nailed them. I'll definitely be back for Tuesday Beef Rib Day!
Stopped by Woody’s in Green Cove Springs tonight and the Tuesday special was giant Beef Ribs. Our server Bri did a great job helping us decide our order (it’s been a minute since I’ve eaten at a Woody’s). My husband got the Tuesday special of Beef Ribs dinner. It was two gigantic beef ribs and choice of 2 sides and cornbread or toast. I have to say he and I were pleasantly surprised how delicious they were. The ribs were so tender and flavorful. The flavor was reminiscent of brisket burnt ends. One rib is filling with the two sides and leaves one for takeout and get their banana pudding, too. 😋 When Tuesday rolls around you had better get to Woody’s for lunch (they offer a single rib option, too) or dinner for the rib special.
We visited this place on a Friday evening expecting decent barbecue, but the experience was disappointing from start to finish. Right at the entrance, we were greeted by a very unpleasant woman with long white hair. As soon as she heard we wanted to sit outside, she handed us menus with utensils and dismissively passed us off to a server, basically telling us to sit wherever we wanted. No guidance, no hospitality. We ended up seating ourselves due to the lack of direction, and the whole setup outside was inconvenient. Service was slow and disorganized. We had to ask for basic things like straws, and even then, the server only brought them back without taking our order until later. The food was the worst part. I love barbecue and almost always order pulled pork, so I know what it should taste like — this was terrible. My pulled pork sampler first came out cold, with hardened fat. When they replaced it, the second plate looked even worse. The meat seemed old or reheated multiple times — dry, lifeless, and completely lacking flavor. Honestly, inedible. Other items were just as disappointing — overly greasy sandwiches and dry brisket. The only things that were remotely okay were the green colard and mashed potatoes. There was no apology, no discount, and no real effort to fix the situation, even after I clearly said how bad the food was. I didn’t eat that pulled pork. To make matters worse, there is only one restroom for the entire restaurant. Overall, one of the worst barbecue experiences I’ve had. Poor service, terrible food, and no customer care.
I had an outstanding experience with Tura, from the moment I walked in, she made me feel welcome with her positive attitude and exceptional customer service. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout my visit. First time here but will definitely be back !
