Dr Schwartz is an excellent doctor. He is very thorough and caring. I appreciate the time he takes with me to cover everything.
I've been a patient of Dr Schwartz's for over 20 years. He's treated me for several different health issues and I trust his judgment, knowledge and decisions completely. When I still had children at home he treated them and also several other of my family members throughout the last two decades. The only issue and having is just within the past month regarding the refill my pain medication which I've been on for several years. I've been prescribed 15 mg oxycodone and the manufacturers have an issue with producing that particular dose, so my original refill which could have been filled on February 5th through my pharmacy, Walgreen's, which Dr. Schwartz called in at my last visit and the pharmacy did not have that dosage, however they did say they had 10 mg and 20 mg doses. So after I called again, he sent it in to CVS and they also did not have my normal dosage. So I called again and left a message. I got through to the actual office and the women I spoke with told Dr Schwartz the problem and came back just seconds later and said I needed to come in and pick up a hard copy of the prescription and find it on my own. Which I did, despite the pain I was in. So after I picked up my prescription hard copy I went to Walmart, Winn Dixie, and Publix and none of these pharmacies had that dosage, also citing it was a manufacturer issue. However, I called the Millennium office twice and explained that Walgreens had 10 mg and 20 mg and I did not want to be forced off my oxycodone after being on it for so long. I left a message explaining that issue more than once but I have not been contacted since. I'm not sure if the message was received by his office, or if it was seen by Dr. Schwartz, however they assured me that they would message the office. I do have an appointment with Dr Schwartz on March 5th but due to my plethora of health issues, I've been having a very hard time managing my pain. The only saving grace is I'm prescribed up to 4 a day, as needed and some days I didn't have to take all 4, so I had about 10 pills left. I used one a day until I ran out, even trying to cut the few I did have in half, unsuccessfully due to their small size because I was trying to avoid not to go into detoxing. I've always been told never to go off these meds abruptly and completely, without doctor supervision. I think the main issue is and always has been the communication between the Millennium call center or main line to the actual individual doctor they are representing and then a lack of a swift response to the patient and the feeling that no one is really listening and understanding the severity of the problem. This is an isolated incident and is ultimately a manufacturing issue, however I feel a phone call with regard to this problem could have been made on my behalf considering the awareness of the pain that I'm in and why. I tried to get an earlier appointment with Dr Schwartz, even asking if I could just come in to discuss this one issue making it a very short one, however they did not have any availability. I also asked if I could even do a telehealth appointment to discuss the issue with Dr Schwartz personally, however I was dissuaded from doing so and told just to keep my appointment on March 5th. Overall, I am very happy with my Doctor, who I value and respect immensely. I honestly don't know, if it weren't for Dr Schwartz, what physical condition I would be in now. I truly believe that his expertise in knowing what tests to order prior to referrals to other specialists and his own diagnosees and care over the years has literally kept me upright, walking and my blood pressure issues have been managed. He always knows the proper tests to order and the proper referrals needed to manage all of my health issues. He is a commendable physician.
I recently had an office visit with Dr. William Schwartz, and I must say I was quite disappointed with the overall experience. My primary reason for the visit was to discuss my blood test results, which had shown abnormal levels. Unfortunately, the doctor displayed a lack of cooperation and empathy throughout the appointment. Despite my concerns, there was no effort on his part to address the issues or provide any suggestions for resolution. In fact, he seemed rather dismissive and even stated that all levels were fine, with an attitude that I found quite aggravating. Moreover, the waiting time was exceptionally long, with a delay of 2 hours beyond my scheduled appointment time. This only added to the frustration of the visit. What struck me the most was the doctor's apparent lack of genuine interest in my health concerns. He made it clear that I could do whatever I wanted with myself, which left me feeling unheard and disregarded. I must admit that the only positive interaction I had during this visit was with the check-out lady, who was quite courteous. However, given the overall negative experience, I am left with no choice but to express my disappointment. The level of professionalism, empathy, and care from a healthcare provider is of utmost importance, and unfortunately, Dr. William Schwartz fell short in these areas. I will not be returning to this practice for future care.
The office of Dr. Schwartz is truly outstanding. The staff is very polite and caring. Dr. Schwartz along with the rest of the medical team is just wonderful. I would definitely recommend their practice to anyone who is searching for a new PCP.
Love this doctor and staff. They go above and beyond with my special needs daughter. They also are extremely patient. I live on the opposite side of town, but the service is worth the hour drive to get great service. Most doctors pale in comparison
