Classic Bait and Switch. Beware!! They list cars online for $1500 claiming they are a non-profit out to “help people”, then they get you in with the line that they had to “list something” and the car is really ten to twenty times more. That’s called a bait and switch my friends. Deceptive advertising. Scummy!! Run!!!
The We Help Foundation has gone out of their way to really help me when I was in a bind. I purchased a vehicle from them last year, and that alone was amazing. A year later, I had an issue with my car and a tow truck company. The issue had nothing to do with them. They weren't obligated to help me but yet they did. Matthew is one of the Sr Advisors who really took great care of me. If you need a vehicle...I highly recommend this organization, they will take great care of you...
During my first car purchase as a college student, I found We Help Auto to have a pattern of disorganization and forgetfulness. This lead to negligence, which lead to my engine being destroyed within the first 500 miles and 3 weeks of owning the vehicle. Then the owner, Matthew, refused to take ownership for his company’s negligence and was unwilling to admit fault and allow me to return the car and give me my money back. This is leaving me, a poor college student, with a car that cost me $5600 that is undrivable and a repair bill that is as much as I paid for the car after they inadvertently destroyed my car. My mechanic advised me to not bother fixing it. Here is the longer version of the story. The owner, Matthew, was pleasant during the sale. The nightmare began when Matthew called us when we got home to tell us that the car had a repair that was supposed to be made prior to the car leaving the lot. We brought the car back and they put a $20 hose on it that was leaking engine coolant fluid. His mechanic had forgotten to fix it prior to Matthew selling it. Unfortunately, this was only the first thing they forgot to fix before selling the vehicle to me. They also forgot to put the oil in the car before selling it to me. As a result, 3 weeks later after driving it only 500 miles, the engine went out. I was 250 miles from home just getting back to college. The mechanic, who had 25 years of experience, looked at the car and said there was almost no oil in the car, and that lack of oil is what caused the engine to fail. Specifically, this was due the fact that there was no oil leaking on the ground and no other potential mechanical causes upon his close examination. He said the only explanation for the car having practically no oil was that the place we purchased the car from, We Help Auto, didn’t complete an oil change prior to selling it. Unfortunately, Matthew continues refusing to acknowledge the possibility that his mechanic could have accidentally forgot to put oil in the car. At the same time, every mechanic who has looked at the vehicle and that I’ve spoke with has stated that all evidence points to the car having no oil when it was sold. Matthew, the owner, who is not a mechanic and hasn’t seen the vehicle is insisting that the lack of oil is due to a P0299 turbo charger diagnostic code. Every mechanic and industry professional that has looked at the car or I have explained the situation to agrees that the P0299 code could not cause the car to lose that much oil in a matter of weeks and that Matthew’s claim is total nonsense. Contrary to everyone else, Matthew is in complete denial that it could be the fault of his dealership and continues to refuse giving me my money back despite all the evidence pointing to We Help Auto’s negligence. Matthew said, before I purchased the vehicle, that the dealership provides no warranties. However, negligently failing to not put oil in the car resulting in a destroyed engine is an entirely different matter. At the end of the day, I am suffering financially because Matthew, as a business owner, refuses to do the right thing. Just because your employee tells you they changed the oil 3 or 4 weeks ago when you ask about it, doesn’t mean the oil got changed. It was likely the same mechanic that didn’t fix the engine coolant hose before the vehicle was sold to me. When professionals are saying that the dealership screwed up on the oil change, why would a business owner deny, deny, deny and refuse to make it right. Putting your needs ahead of your customer, and refusing to compensate a teenager the $5600 your business caused her to lose is just bad business and simply won’t help your business be successful in the long run. Please stop trying to defend your business and stop trying to come up with excuses to not do the right thing. Not having a warranty doesn’t apply to your staff not changing the oil and sending your customer away with no oil. Likely, Matthew will respond with a false narrative / link. This is my experience to this point & will provide future updates.
We had a wonderful experience here. I was looking for a reliable and safe vehicle for my daughter and We Help got her in a great car. They worked with us to get the best deal possible and we ended up paying less than anything we’d seen. A few days after our purchase we had a minor issue with the car. Matthew and Kurt had us come in right away and solved the issue quickly. The whole process was fast, easy, and the entire team was friendly.
Honestly, I love this company. They genuinely want to help people. I got my car just over a year ago and it will be completely paid off next week. I love my car and it would have been way more difficult to get it from any other company. When I got my car from them it ran like new and it still does. I would recommended them to anyone that doesn't want to go the traditional finance route or can't due to credit. There is no intrest the price you see is what you pay and in little to no time the car is paid off. I probably sound like a commercial for them, but I can assure you it's not. If you need a car, please consider them. They are awesome!!!!!
