One of my favorite spots to go for a walk and decompress. Usually find people fishing or with cast nets. Limited parking so you may have to park in the side lot and then walk over.
After walking the park and getting a great tour of several buildings, we grew to love searching for the various frogs around the trails and views. As we were leaving, we were able to attend an event where we got to paint our own frogs! Wonderful event, history, and memories.
One of my favorite places to watch the sunset in Jacksonville. Park is kept pretty clean and they have restrooms.
Hidden Gem in Mandarin. A beautiful, peaceful park 5 minutes from the craziness of 295 and San Jose. It was quiet, close parking and great views of the river when you walk down to the water.
I’ve been coming to this park for many years. It is always clean and well kept up. It features paved walkways that also go toward the river, and some boardwalks. One goes really far out and there are always fishermen out there. At the end of it is a covered area that has good views of the river and bridge. There is also a small museum and some other buildings on the property. It’s one of the best parks in the Jax area.
