Tonight, I had a haircut appointment at V’s Barbershop at 4:30 PM. By the time I sat in the chair, it was already 4:45 PM. As we started the haircut, Zach seemed uncomfortable with the scissors and clippers. After cutting about 2 inches off the top (which I had requested and he agreed to), he began taking off from the back. Initially, it felt like a normal taper, but it felt as if he was going much higher than usual. At the peak of the so-called taper, it felt very choppy. At this point, I should have trusted my instincts, but I believed that V’s Barbershop, a classy establishment, wouldn’t hire such an incompetent barber, and I trusted Zach. By the end of the cut, he didn’t even pull out the mirror that every barber does, which should have been a red flag number two. We paid and tipped Zach $10. As I walked to my car, I asked my wife to take a picture to ensure that my hair wasn’t messed up. Sure enough, the below photos show what I found myself looking at. Fortunately, I was able to go to a different barber that a friend recommended, and he was able to salvage as much of my hair as possible. Given the positive reviews and the classy reputation of V’s Barbershop, I am surprised that this type of service is considered acceptable. If any other barber had seen this cut as I was leaving, I would have expected them to have said something. However, unfortunately, I was the last appointment, and we were 20 minutes past closing time. I do not expect to receive a gift card as a refund, as I don’t see myself ever returning. Instead, I hope this serves as a learning experience for any prospective clients interested in working with a barber at V’s Barbershop, or specifically with Zach.
We started coming here for my son’s haircuts. He is 3 and they do such a good job!! We’ve had a few different people do his cut and they have all been super sweet with him. Today we had a younger man named max I think who did a great job! My son has lots of cowlicks but he was able to shape everything to look nice. We love coming here!
The service was great! Clean shop, vintage appeal with modern vibe. MJ was very friendly, and knew exactly what I needed, and she gave me an outstanding cut! Highly recommended! Will be returning.
V’s In Nocatee is fantastic! I’m new to this area and this was my first time here. The ambiance takes me back to my childhood days at the barbershop. Everyone is very friendly and the place is immaculate. My barber Justin has gained a lifelong customer. He listened carefully to what I wanted and my expectations. Boy did he deliver!!! His attention to detail is superb and he even did a fantastic job fixing the flaws from my last haircut. He finished it off with a neck shave, essential oils hot towel and shoulder massage. To top it off he has a great personality and makes you feel like you’ve known him for years. I walked out feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Give V’s and Justin a try. You won’t be disappointed.
Being new to the community, and in dire need of a haircut , I did some research, and luckily I found V’s. I called and made an appointment, with a pleasant individual, for a time that was convenient for me. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and well organized everything was. The shop resembled an old fashioned barber shop, this certainly made me feel quite comfortable. My barber, a young man by the name of Christian, made me feel welcomed and relaxed. We spoke about what type haircut I wanted and he offered a suggestion and I agreed. Christian, preformed his job with a degree of professionalism that I found to be exemplary. Christian is certainly an asset to V’s, and I look forward to using V’s and Christian as my new barber and barber shop. Certainly a job well done.
