Worst experience ever. Dr Black at Mandarin Pediatrics basically kicked me and my husband out for asking questions about the vaccines and saying we wanted to delay them. She was so unprofessional and rude to us. She did not even read my child’s chart before coming in to see him then proceeded to not know why the hospital requested a cranial sonogram, which she would have known if she read his chart. She stated we should find another doctor because we do not see eye to eye on how to keep my child safe. I mentioned it was a religious reason in which she made me go further into depth on what the reason was and then proceeded to say “I think you should go to a church and go in the back look at the graveyard and all the dead infants before vaccines” basically left in tears and have not been back to any pediatrician since
Dr. Black and Mandarin pediatrics are the best! My kids have been going there for 15 years and I saw Dr. Soud the founder as a child myself. Not all the dr have a best bedside manner but they are the best at what they do and put the kids first! My daughter got RSV at 5 weeks old and had to be hospitalized for 7 days, during that period Dr. Black checked everyday personally and added a note to her chart that she was not to be woken up for vitals by residents whom seemed to come the second she would finally fall asleep. Dr. Black heard my sons heart murmur at age 4 that required open heart surgery and even though my ex wife opted to go to CHOP in Philly for the surgery Dr. Black stayed in touch the entire time and afterwards. Best at what truly matters!
We just moved to the area and Dr. Black saw my son for the first time. She noticed a heart murmur that didnt quite sound right to her so she referred son for echocardiogram which confirmed a problem. From the echocardiogram, we were referred to a cardiologist where the PA told us it sounded like a normal harmless heart murmur to her. We asked about the echocardiogram and her tune changed. Had we been sent to the cardiologist first to refer for echocardiogram, son would not have been diagnosed. It was because of Dr. Black's keen ear and attention to detail that my sons heart condition was brought to our attention. She is now my favorite pediatrician. Big fan!
Absolutly terrible care and unprofessional bedside manner. Spoke to my daughter as though she was an idiot. Utterly condecending. Truly ignorant regarding autism spectrum and alternative teaching of special needs children. No open dialog, just a really glib attitude that was unappreciated and unnecessary. This last visit was her "second chance" after once saying my daughter didn't "look autistic". Look elsewhere for a less ignorant more pleasant physician.
