I had to wait to write this review until I was no longer angry and disgusted. I received an awful solicitation letter from this company before my husband’s funeral — so quickly that it was clearly not a coincidence. It is painfully obvious this letter resulted from scouring death records of some sort to target newly widowed families. This was not a condolence letter. In fact, nowhere did it say “sorry for your loss.” The letter barely acknowledges that a death even occurred. Instead, it uses the death solely as justification for contacting me, despite there being no prior relationship or any previous transaction with this company. Rather than offering sympathy, they jumped straight into business, explaining how they could help sell my husband’s personal belongings and profit from them. They even used the phrase “throwing away” in reference to his things. That level of presumption is breathtaking. Who do they think they are to assume I would want to start “throwing away” my husband’s belongings? Reducing a person’s life to items to be cleared and monetized is cold, disrespectful, and deeply disturbing. The tone throughout was entirely transactional, treating my husband’s life as an inventory rather than acknowledging him as a human being who was loved. This letter was transactional, opportunistic, and completely lacking basic human compassion. If this reflects the ethics of this business, people deserve to know before ever engaging with them. Grief should not be a lead source. A death is not a business opportunity. Grief deserves dignity and respect — not exploitation. This company’s outreach demonstrates a profound lack of ethical judgment and a willingness to profit from people at their most vulnerable time. If a company is going to stoop to using death records as a business trigger, the bare minimum expectation is compassion, sensitivity, and empathy which are all lacking here!
