My son has been doing so well. Raven and the staff have done everything they can to accommodate our needs. From the smaller class size, to changing schedules, and now partnering with a bcba for individual behavior plans. They are continuing to find better ways to communicate with parents as they have grown so quickly. I am very excited to see it continue to grow and be flexible for the kids.
My son was in public school (both Duval & Clay county) for grades K thru 6th. He has an IEP, however it was a constant fight with the ESE departments to get my son what he needed. He did not thrive in the large class sizes and went multiple school years without talking to some of his teachers. With that said for 7th grade we transitioned my son to Uncharted Academy and he is thriving. He's been talking to all of his teachers & the staff since day 1. He's made friends. He doesn't have to hide that he learns differently, he can be who he is. He loves going and learning. He is learning so much. He has so many opportunities at Uncharted Academy. He's even getting to take high school enrichment (elective) classes for high school credit as a 7th grader. Raven and her staff have done wonders with & for my son. In stead of crying tears of frustration & sadness I've had the joy of crying tears of happiness watching him thrive. I'm excited to continue to see him grow over the next few years at Uncharted Academy, he will remain there until he graduates.
We have gone to 2 other homeschool co-op’s and this is our sons favorite. His reading and handwriting have improved faster than I could have ever hoped for. The best part is he is genuinely excited to go and tells us all the cool things he learned that day. Couldn’t be happier with their set up.
I'd be wary of doing business with this company. I was hired to do their social media, and my contract states 30 days notice needs to be given for cancellation, but when I sent Raven my invoice at the end of March for April she told me she needed to scale back 50% for the month of April while waiting for funding and then return to normal for May. I told her I'd honour this, but reminded her of the terms of my contract. She said she understood and stated she was willing to pay for the missed services when they got the funding, that she wasn't planning to terminate the services. She asked if I could put together a modified proposal based on different deliverables, which I did, then after I reached out a couple weeks later in mid-April to see where things were at she told me she had just received a grant notification an hour prior and should be good to go - to give her until Monday. I reached out a couple times, with no response by the beginning of May. A month and a half after the issues first started, so based on her initial comment of saying that she understood the terms of my contract and that she was willing to pay for the missed services when they got the funding, that she wasn't planning to terminate the services, I sent her over an invoice which she then told me she refused to pay. After being told for over a month that she still wanted us to work together and would pay me for the services laid out in our original contract as soon as she received funding, I felt like her approach was completely unethical with this now refusal to pay. I kept my schedule open with room for her, not bringing in a new client to fill that space because she explicitly said in our chats she wasn't terminating our contract.
