I am not someone who quickly writes negative reviews. In fact, this may be my very first. I understand that people make mistakes and slip-ups can happen, but unfortunately, multiple experiences with this office have been disappointing. The entire office staff is extremely unprofessional. I truly believe Dr. Ilyas, Dr. Tolaymat, and NP Blake should not be practicing. Their lack of care, accountability, and compassion is deeply disappointing and concerning. While I won’t go into all the details about my child’s situation, I can say that incorrect medications were prescribed and they quickly blamed the pharmacy and laughed it off. Had we not traveled to Gainesville, I truly believe we would still be without answers. I hope UF Jacksonville takes a deep look into this office including the staff they hire and professionalism training. Based on other recent reviews, it seems we are not the only family who have had a bad experience. I highly recommend seeking out a pediatric nephrologist elsewhere if you are in need of one.
Doctor
Dr. Mohammad Ilyas is the most incompetent doctor I have ever had the displeasure of meeting in my entire life. First, his nurse practitioner wrote the wrong dosage rx for my son’s blood pressure medication and he couldn’t have cared less to check it after I called multiple times trying to have it reviewed and corrected. He actually laughed awkwardly at our follow up appointment when I told him I had tried to call many times to have it corrected. I don’t think my son’s health is a joke. For the last 10 days I have repeatedly called to have the same rx refilled and the request has been in pending status for a week. I made it abundantly clear we do not have any medication left and it’s urgent. It is very straight forward refill request and there is absolutely no reason it should not be completed other than that Dr. Mohammad Ilyas does not seem to care at all about his patients. In addition, Dr. Mohammad Ilyas does not speak clear enough English to effectively communicate in my opinion. With the lives of children in your hands, this is all completely unacceptable and frustrating. When I expressed my concern to my son’s referring doctor, the response was “nobody likes Dr. Ilyas but he’s the only pediatric nephrologist around here.” I will be driving to Gainesville which is hours out of my way just to avoid this pathetic excuse of a doctor in the future. Hopefully nobody is seriously hurt by his negligence, but it won’t be my son.
Aleena Blake is the worst NP I've ever experienced in my life. She's the definition of a medical provider who doesn't care about you, only cares about doing her job. She forgets that patients have lives and she doesn't care to have a good relationship with her patients because what kind of medical worker doesn't say hello, doesnt ask how we've been etc. She'll just walk in the room and start looking at your labs. Also, as a NP or medical provider in general YOU'RE supposed to properly educate your patients and family about the certain problems or questions they have. She will only tell you what the answer is without properly explaining it to you. Like I'm supposed to magically understand everything that's going on. Then when you tell her you don't understand or agree with what she's saying, her response is with an attitude "well I don't know how to explain it to you for you to understand" and then she goes and gets the doctor who actually explained it sooo easily where I understand him. But she can't do that? Makes me question her credentials and her as a person to be a good NP for families who are experiencing heartache from a recent diagnosis of my 2yr old son. Not only that but she had a little attitude that really upset me. Additionally, she told me if I have a question concerning MY CHILD then I need to seek clarification with the doctor. That's completely disrespectful and RUDE. I don't need her telling me what I should do, that's not her place. I really hope someone sees this and educates her better. I shouldn't have to deal with that. Unfortunately there's no other children nephrology close so I gotta deal with them but I'm happy with the doctor who is very professional and did a great job educating me and was polite. She will not be my son provider again, I'm not gonna deal with it.
Can't speak to a provider. You NEVER get a call back. Your child could be dying and they could care less.
