Well , was referred by my primary (downstairs) same building mind you. We have tried 13 times to make an appointment, no call back! Our primary actually sent someone there to hand deliver the referral. We are definitely going elsewhere, my condition can’t wait. Do not go there, sorry if you’re trapped by Medicare.
I was prescribed a cholesterol medication several months ago—which is effective. After using my one-month sample, I was told by cvs that my doc needs to call CareMark for insurance coverage—this has not happened to date. I’ve made numerous phone calls to All 3 UF heart&vasc locations, and have driven to both Nocatee and Jax locations trying to get someone to help with my Medicare coverage for this drug that is costing me 335.00 a month. I was given a 2-week sample, and assured “the paperwork would be facilitated.” However! weeks later, still no approval— so I called Nocatee Office and was told “the paperwork wasn’t done correctly, but we’ll expedite the correction.” Still no coverage. So I drove to Nocatee seeking another sample to hold me over: No sample for me! Yesterday, I called CVS to fill the drug for 335.00, which brings my drug cost since April to about 1,000.00, which presents an affordability problem for a retiree. The Pharmacist said, We’ve reached out several times to your doc—all he has to do is to call CareMark, yer wasting your money, it’s stupid. Yes, it’s indeed stupid. But I’m not stupid any longer, so I’m hoping my wife’s heart doc is taking new patients! If you want insurance to cover your drug(s), I’d consider another practice. . . .
Dr. Ameeth Vedre is amazing he listen and then advise his patients accordingly. He’s is very knowledgeable, I love how he go over is anything changes with your new medication and make sure his patients are comfortable and happy. His staff are brilliant at the office. They friendly and also take their time and making sure you understands everything if you have any questions or follow up.
I tried calling and the representative appeared to have English as a second language. She was very rude and refused to help me telling me after I faxed an order in she would not schedule for it. She said I was not in their system and would not ask me for information to add me as is typical. I asked for someone else who could add me to the system so I could make an appointment but sent to a message.
Staff was friendly and efficient and acknowledged me immediately. The place looked and smelled super clean. Dr. Carrasquillo has a very comforting demeanor. He asked pertinent questions and then got right to the point. Great experience.
