UF Health Family Medicine - Kernan Square

I have been going to UF Health Kernan for well over 10 years and the doctors and staff are incredible!! Dr Yokitis is kind, thorough, and to the point. He listens and doesn't mind answering questions no matter how trivial. As a Senior patient, his calm demeanor is refreshing.

Terrible experience. I came in for rapid, unexplained weight gain and multiple other concerns, and instead of actually listening, the nurse immediately started making assumptions and implying I “must be doing something wrong.” At one point she looked at the Starbucks TEA in my hand (literally just hot water and tea bags) and suggested my symptoms were probably from “all the sugary drinks.” When I brought up concerns about PCOS, she brushed it off and said I would’ve had symptoms sooner. She did order blood work, but every appointment felt judgmental and dismissive rather than helpful. What made it worse was the hypocrisy. This nurse showed up with messy hair, stained clothes, and an overall disheveled appearance while talking down to me about my health and weight. I now have a new doctor in a new office who actually listens, validates my concerns, and treats me with respect, and the difference is night and day.

DO NOT GO HERE. THEY WILL LEAVE YOU IN PAIN AND RUIN YOUR LIFE. I was in a car accident several months ago and was waiting to see pain management. After my visit with them where they gave me a muscle relaxer and want to do injections, I called my PCP to ask about non narcotic pain meds. She's refusing to prescribe anything. If I came in with a headache, they'd be fine prescribing something. The don't even deserve the one star. I'm in excruciating pain and there is no compassion. No phone call, no caring. Do not do business with this company.

I was in dire need of an MRI for a brain tumor at the end of my pregnancy and Chiara Wesley seemed to be trying everything to not get me the MRI. The appointment lasted over an hour and most of the time I was just trying to get the MRI referral so that I can check on my tumor as it's likely to grow while pregnant. She discouraged me the entire time telling me that it wouldn't work. In the end I made sure to send her every piece of documention relating to the tumor and essentially had to force her hand to get me the referral it seemed. My one other appointment with her was also very frustrating, I was pregnant and hoping to get a simple physical done and ask a few questions as it had been a long time since my last one, and she told me I had no reason to be seeing her and checked my heart rate than walked out of the room before I had the chance to say anything, I have to see a lot of doctors but I'll never forget either of these experiences, it was by far the worst appt.
