I genuinely cannot remember the last time I experienced this level of disorganization, poor communication, and complete lack of empathy from a healthcare facility. What should have been a straightforward new-patient appointment has now resulted in multiple wasted trips, appointments being changed or canceled without proper notification, and an astonishing amount of time spent simply trying to find where I was supposed to go. There is inadequate signage, unclear directions, and apparently nobody in the building who can confidently direct patients to the appropriate office. I have called FOUR separate times, spending over 20 minutes on the phone trying to get assistance. How is navigating a healthcare facility this unnecessarily difficult? What bothered me most, however, was the complete lack of compassion from the woman I initially spoke with on the phone. I explained that I was a NEW patient, had never been to the facility, and have been diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) for years. I was struggling to locate the office and simply needed someone to help me find where I was supposed to be. Her response? Essentially, that I should find somewhere else. Seriously? Someone working in healthcare, speaking to a patient who is actively explaining their anxiety and asking for basic assistance, thinks THAT is an appropriate response? Then, after another trip to the facility, I discovered that my appointments had been consolidated and moved to October 23 without anyone bothering to communicate that change to me. Another hour wasted. I understand that scheduling complications happen. I understand that large medical facilities can be confusing. What I do NOT understand is the repeated failure to communicate, the inability to provide basic directions, and, most importantly, the apparent absence of empathy for the very people this facility is supposed to serve. When patients are paying a premium for healthcare, expecting basic communication, professionalism, and a little human compassion should not be asking too much. I am not asking for special treatment. I am asking for the bare minimum of competent, compassionate healthcare administration. So far, even that has proven remarkably difficult to obtain. Healthcare should alleviate unnecessary stress, not create more of it before a patient can even see a doctor.
Doctor
Yes, this is my doctor's office. I've been coming here for a couple of years. I believe, and I am very satisfied. With everything about the service that I receive there. My doctor and the staff are wonderful, always ready. With a smile and we'll answer any questions that they can and if they're not sure they will go find someone with the answers that you need no problem.
I\nGo to the downtown UN f hospital on a regular basis.Because I'm a cardio basketball patient, and my daughter took me there.I like you and health.A lot of people complain about it , but me personally , I think they have wonderful clinics, some of the doctor's attitudes can use an adjustment cause. They have somewhat of a Nord attitude, but you know what they say, one apple shouldn't spoil the whole bunch, so I try to have an upbeat attitude and not look at it just because 1 doctor is having a bad day, all the doctors are having a bad day or just being beside themselves because we do have some people that still cares about the human body as well as the human heart and healing the whole body. And Not about the wallet. So as I stated earlier, I love UN f health. I get very good healthcare there and I have a rapport with my doctors because I'm one of the type of people that don't like send a different doctor every time I go so I try to build a friendship on a 1 on 1 relationship with the doctor that they assign me to, so that's the doctor that I keep requesting the so you guys Uber at UN F health, keep app the good work. Because y'all very much needed, even though it seems like y'all don't get praised enough. There are people out there that does care about the health care that y'all provide.
It is advisable to avoid the Emergency Room. The conditions there are quite deplorable, and there appears to be a lack of concern regarding the unsanitary environment patients are subjected to. Patients are accommodated in an overcrowded manner, and there is a complete absence of patient privacy. I did not observe any housekeeping activities. The hospital's location in a less affluent part of Jacksonville should not excuse its uncleanliness. While they do admit indigent patients, the facility's appearance reflects this. The nursing staff seems to be under considerable strain. This Emergency Room is in dire need of a comprehensive renovation and thorough cleaning. Although there are indications of potential updates, these improvements should have been implemented much earlier. A more aesthetically pleasing facility was constructed in the Rivercity area, but the downtown location should have been prioritized. I will not be returning to this establishment.
Alicia and then community Care department is awesome. She anticipated my needs and the doctor's needs well and she did it with kindness and a big smile.
