I don't typically post reviews, but Ace Hardware in Fernandina deserves one. This isn't your typical hardware store. It's a destination. The store is beautiful, and you can tell real thought went into how it's laid out and stocked. It has the largest selection I've seen anywhere, and more importantly, it's the right selection: the things you actually need, plus plenty you didn't know you wanted until you saw them. I went in for one thing and could have spent hours. If you're anywhere near Fernandina, it's worth the trip. Five stars, easily. If you want to mention a specific person who helped you or something you bought, add it in. That kind of detail makes reviews stand out.
Unbelievable garden section! I had the good fortune to have the assistance of Keanu in choosing some beautiful plants. I only went in for a few items, but left with an amazing array of stunning plants. Keanu was super helpful and he KNOWS his stuff! The guy really needs to be a botanist. He's very polite, personable, and took a lot of time to educate me on how to care for my new "girls". I live 2 hours away, but fully intend on returning to this store - specifically for his knowledge and love of his job. Everyone at this store was so nice and made it a pleasure to spend wayyyy more than I anticipated! Thanks Keanu. I'll see you soon!
I was trying to find blue salvia plants for a sunny location. 3 locations did not have any. I called Turner Ace Hardware which is a little farther away. A knowledgeable, patient lady named Marylynn was pretty sure they had what I was looking for and even though it was a humid 95° outside, she offered to go to where they were and counted them to see if there were enough. When I arrived she said she had just watered them. She pulled out a cart, led me to the salvias and quickly found a tray to hold them. She was personable and very informative. What a pleasure to be able to talk to a person and such a gracious lady at that! For my gardening needs it will make sense to check out Ace first. Even though it's farther away the total time spent would have been less. Thank you Marylynn!
Reese and Christian were so helpful when I needed paint quickly to keep my painters supplied. They were very friendly, went out of their way to check inventory and had it made and ready when I got there to pick it up. Reese made great conversation during the transaction and helped me load it up. Great customer service!
It was crazy busy I didnt realize there was a gran reopening. Never been before but its pretty big and very nice with a very large selection of everything. Even with everything going on everybody who worked there was super friendly and offered to help multiple times. I also had an online order I was picking up which was a smooth fast and easy process.
