Tropea Dental Care

Very disappointing experience. Before my appointment, I was told my insurance would cover the visit. At no point was I informed that I would have to pay out of pocket. After the treatment was completed, I was suddenly told I owed $250, which I paid in full that same day because I didn’t want to leave with any balance. What frustrated me the most was the way the situation was handled. I repeatedly asked why I was being charged, but the employee at the front desk couldn’t explain it. Then a woman who introduced herself as the manager came over. Instead of explaining the charges, she kept repeating, “You have to pay. You have to pay.” Every time I asked “Why?”, she gave me the same response without any explanation. I finally said, “Fine, charge me everything today. I don’t want to owe anything,” and I paid the full amount. Now, months later, I have received another bill for $92.79 without any clear explanation. I also received a call confirming an appointment I never scheduled. Patients deserve transparency, clear billing, and respectful communication. Unfortunately, that was not my experience, and I cannot recommend this office I was seriously considering moving forward with Invisalign at this office, even though it was a significant investment of around $6,000 +, because I trusted the dentist and liked the treatment plan. After the way my billing concerns were handled, I completely lost confidence in the office. I decided not to move forward with my treatment and will be taking my business elsewhere. They may have collected $250 from me that day, but they lost a patient who was ready to invest thousands of dollars in their practice.

I spent over two hours at this office and left without even having my teeth cleaned. After the endless amounts of pictures, I was told they did not have enough time to complete the cleaning and that I would need to schedule another appointment. During the visit, I also had two different people go over the same findings with me, which added considerably to the amount of time I was there. I was then charged $60 despite having (very good) insurance, and I was not provided with a receipt or an explanation of the charge. I called afterward and requested that a receipt be sent to me. I was told it would be sent, but I never received it. Overall, I was very disappointed with the experience. Spending more than two hours at a dental appointment, leaving without the cleaning I came in for, being charged without receiving a receipt, and then having to follow up for documentation that was never sent was extremely frustrating.

Tropea Dental is a great place for all your dental needs. The staff is very friendly, they are caring, and very professional. A co-worker told me about this place and I love it. So I told my daughter and she loves it. So I'm going to encourage anyone that fear going to the dentist, go to Tropea Dental.

This was my first visit, and it was probably the most comprehensive initial exam I've ever had. The staff is excellent. The only thing that kept me from giving a 5 star rating was, my appt was at 2 and we (the other patients and I) were told sorry for the delay, they were just getting back from lunch and would be with us shortly. It wasn't a long wait, but I didn't like that.
