Trinity Baptist Church

I spent many days in the parking lot of Trinity Baptist, praying for strength and wisdom. I was in a failing marriage with a woman who wasn't interested in spiritual fellowship, and by dint of Trinity's proximity between town and my home, I'd often stop in the parking lot to reflect, pray, or have a moment of peace. One day, I finally obeyed God, and went inside. I asked if I could talk and pray with someone. An associate pastor and a small conference room later, I'm sobbing out my failing marriage, a cold home - and I wouldn't find out until years later that it was because of a cheating wife - my desperate need for spiritual guidance and the warmth of a church community. When I looked up through my tears at one point, there was a sheriff's deputy behind the associate pastor. Another deputy was at my nearby house, doing a welfare check on my bewildered wife, who was assuring the deputy that she was not murdered. She divorced me soon after - for which I was grateful for, and my new life, wife, and spiritual community are everything I could ask for. But the betrayal of trust by Trinity Baptist - who treated a crying man desperate for guidance and community as a potential threat to his family, is a memory I cherish as a lesson in what absolute failure looks like. Hebrews 10:22 commands believers to draw near to God with a sincere heart, without pretense, and with confidence in faith. These are not principles that Trinity holds to.

My family has been active at this church for about 18 years. As homeschoolers moving away from the big city (happy!) and extended family (sad), we were looking for specific things in a church family: biblical teaching & preaching, a spiritually strong pastor who leads, friendly people, a heart for the Lord & missions, music activities for the whole family, a library, a home school support group and areas in which we could serve. That's not too much to ask for, is it? :) God answered our prayers for His best for our family in bringing us here. You may have been in a church where business meetings were long, stressful, and the people were ugly to each other. Not here! What a blessing when the family of God recognizes we are on the same team and works together as God directs. You may have been in a church where the lead pastors were always on the look-out for the next church to "step-up" to. Not here! We've been blessed with both the same pastor and minister of music since we first arrived. Our children have grown up together. We believe that when God calls you to a church He will both feed you and have areas for you to serve in. If this sounds like what you've been looking for, welcome home!

Bible believing church - enough said. Moved from Jax hoping to find a great new church home to raise our family in. Came to Trinity and never looked back. From the sermons to the children’s ministry, we couldn’t be happier.
