The owners were very kind, very welcoming. Its good for the price, compared to other places. Parking is Free. Its far enough from town, so you wont get the noise, very quiet mostly except for some cars and people getting to their rooms. The rooms are spacious, a bit dusty, not entirely clean, but nothing concerning. The AC works, makes the room cool enough, but not cold. Overall it was good for the price.
As a savvy, budget-conscious traveler, I am always looking for properties that offer genuine value rather than simply the lowest price. Travelodge by Wyndham Suites St. Augustine delivered exactly that. Upon arrival, I met the owner, Jigisha, who has owned and operated this property with her family for 25 years. She lives onsite, and it is immediately apparent that she takes tremendous personal pride in the hotel. This is not an absentee-owned property. Jigisha runs a tight ship and puts her heart, soul, and personal attention into making guests feel comfortable. My room was immaculately clean and exceptionally well maintained. The beds were comfortable, the room felt fresh and orderly, and every detail reflected careful oversight. Although this is a budget-friendly hotel, it did not feel neglected or carelessly operated. It was comfortable precisely because the property is so well cared for. Jigisha was warm, pleasant, and professional. Travelers who understand value know that attentive ownership, exceptional cleanliness, and comfortable accommodations are often more important than unnecessary luxury. This property provides all three at a reasonable price. I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a clean, comfortable, well-managed hotel in St. Augustine.
The location is good. Staff is nice and accommodating. However the rooms are not the cleanest. Clean enough for a night if you don’t mind, but does not feel sanitary like you would expect in most hotels. Depending on the price it may be worth it, but if you want something clean you may want to spend a little more for somewhere nicer. This place certainly has potential, and if it focused on cleaning rooms better, and removing mold in showers, it could likely be charging more. However the beds feel a little sticky, and everything feels like it wasn’t thoroughly cleaned.
The room looked, smelled and felt clean. The bed was comfortable. The shower was hot. The TV, WiFi, microwave, refrigerator and AC worked. The night was quiet. The staff was polite. If you want more (and more expensive) amenities this is not for you. This is basic as good as basic can be. I was impressed. Also, although a mile or so away from the center of the historic area, I enjoyed an interesting and scenic back roads walk to get there.
The owners were very nice and helpful in Halpern us choose restaurants for dinner and maps. The rooms were newly remodeled and clean. They do have a pool but we did not use it. It's the location is very nice to Schooners Restaurant which was delicious and the trolley depot.
