After visiting The Southerly at Shipyard, I can definitely see why people talk about it so much! The property is beautiful, extremely well-kept, and has such a welcoming feel. I honestly went in not really knowing what to expect or what I was doing, but I immediately felt comfortable. The leasing team was easily the best part of my experience. Kassandra, the leasing consultant, was absolutely wonderful. She was so easy to talk to and never once made me feel pressured or like I was being “sold” something. I’ve never leased before, so I had A LOT of random questions, and she was incredibly patient and genuinely seemed to care about whether I would actually feel comfortable and happy living there—not just about getting me to sign a lease. Amanda and Jeremy, the property managers, were also incredibly reassuring. They took the time to answer my questions, made me feel much more comfortable about the entire process, and never made me feel rushed. I really appreciated that, especially because I was a little overwhelmed going into everything. What stood out most to me was that it genuinely felt like the people who work here care about the residents and the experience of living here—not just about filling apartments. That made a huge difference for me. I would absolutely recommend The Southerly at Shipyard to anyone considering a new place to call home. The property is beautiful, but it’s the people who really make the experience stand out.
My husband and I moved from NYC a month ago and have absolutely loved living at The Southerly at the Shipyard. The apartments are beautiful, and the amenities are a major bonus -- ranging from daily coffee in the Sky Lounge with a stunning view of the San Sebastian River, to the resort-like pool, jacuzzi, fire pit, and lounge areas studded with swaying palm trees and string lights. The neighbors are all so lovely. Living here, you are likely to strike up multiple conversations if desired, as everyone is friendly. You could keep to yourself, too, if that is your preference. The vibe is laid-back and easy. It feels like a mini paradise. Also, the office staff, including Jeremy, Emma, and Mariel, have been incredibly helpful and hospitable. They all care about their work. However, I must mention Mariel because she was our entry point to the property. She stayed in contact with us while we lived in NYC and made sure we had all we needed for the move. Additionally, she brings a particular warmth, kindness, and work ethic that makes every event amazing (this is not to discount other team members who also do an incredible job). We had a trivia night where the entire staff was great (it was a lot of fun!), and last week, we had our spring brunch, which Mariel made truly special. It's a delightful place to live. :)
I just moved in about a week ago, and I absolutely love it here! The community is beautiful, with so many amazing amenities that go beyond just a place to live. Every resident I’ve met so far has been so kind, and the staff has been incredible. Mariel helped my cousin and I through the entire process, from our first tour to move-in day! She was a big reason we decided to say yes! Her professionalism and warmth made the experience so easy, and we couldn’t be happier 😊
We moved in a few days ago and we are really loving it. My husband I’s first thought was that it feels like staying in a luxury hotel. The amenities are fantastic with the sky lounge, pool, hot tub, lounge areas, gym etc and I really appreciate how clean everything looks. We were impressed with the gated indoor parking garage having levels so there’s never a need to walk up any stairs or going through the rain with groceries plus there are elevators. Mariel was very helpful with showing us around and with the move in process. She is one of the reasons why we decided to make Southerly our home.
Moved in on April 15th and it's been everything I hoped for. The building itself is beautiful. Modern, well kept, and the kind of place that feels like home the moment you walk in. But I have to give a huge shoutout to Mariel. She made the whole process easy. I was traveling for work the entire time leading up to my move, and she handled everything with so much patience. Every email I sent got a quick reply, every question got a clear answer, and nothing ever felt rushed or transactional. She really took care of me. If you're thinking about moving here, do it. And if you get to work with Mariel, you're in great hands.
