The Sheik Sandwiches and Subs

I eat here about once every month or two & haven't had any issues in the 3 years I've been a customer. When I drive through to Jacksonville to pick up lumber, I make it a point to stop at The Sheik on my way home; That's how much I like it. I've only had the steak in a sack and a camel rider and though they are dry sometimes, you can request extra mayo when ordering. The staff are usually friendly & accommodating, with sometimes the person who takes your order also being the one to prepare it. The sweet tea is the best around. It's nice to have a restaurant that is affordable & delicious, with staff who actually seem to enjoy their job to an extent. Only downside is the interior is sometimes dirty with unwiped tables, which is understandable as they can be very busy at lunch time.

Normally the food is good. I love their breakfast. I stopped yesterday to get a salad and I was VERY disappointed when I got home. Almost the entire salad was going bad…from the lettuce to the cucumbers. Had to the throw the entire thing out. I know they prepare the bulk of their salads ahead of time but do a quick check and make sure it’s still good before you sell it next time.

Just plain gross. Terrible experience. They got my order wrong. Then the food was cold even though they "remade" it. I don't think my food came off the griddle. The girl working the register was nice. Nothing like other Shieks I have been to. I almost wanted to turn around and demand a refund but I had already made it back home. Talk about dissapointed

Boyfriend and I both got a steak in the sack. $27 for two meals. Well, both ended up in the trash. I took two bites out of mine and it smelled straight bad. His didn’t smell that way, but I couldn’t do it. The restaurant is haunting, ceiling caving in, inch layer thick of nasty gross on the vent in the ceiling. Dead bugs on the window sill. If the front, which the customer sees, looks like this, I couldn’t imagine the kitchen. Horrific smell from the time we walked in. Absolutely disgusting and won’t ever return.
