I've been living at The Point for the last 1.5 years now and have really enjoyed my time here. However, there have been a few issues as well as recent changes that prevent me from rating this complex a full 5 stars. Pros: - Beautiful modern apartments: Really nice units. They were cleaned well prior to move-in, and I'm very happy with the quality of the space. I love the kitchen, the patio/balcony, and all the closet space. Feels very roomy, modern, and cozy. - Excellent amenities: I love the pool, the gym, the coffee at the office, etc. Everything is maintained very well too. - Clean, well-kept complex: Lovely lake in the middle, well-kept grounds, great area to walk around, and overall a wonderful location within Town Center. - Good management: I've had great interactions with the management here, and everyone is very nice and does genuinely aim to help. - Fun activities/events: Every now and then there's free pizza, a yoga night, a pool party, etc. Certainly can't complain about free food! Cons: - Raised EV charging prices: As an EV owner, one of the main reasons why I chose The Point over most of the other apts in the area was because of the on-site ChargePoints, which have been very convenient. However, within the last few weeks, they switched over to Xeal. I would say no problem, but with that change, they nearly doubled their prices. Rates used to be $0.19/kWh, and they've now gone up to $0.34/kWh PLUS a $0.49 session activation fee. Superchargers cost around $0.39/kWh, with some as low as $0.31/kWh. I refuse to use the new chargers at prices adjacent to Superchargers, and I hope they're lowered to more reasonable rates. With the removal of this convenience, I likely will not renew my lease when the time comes, which is beyond unfortunate as I have loved living here. - Maintenance issues: Maintenance is fast, which I appreciate. You make a request and they show up really quickly. However, I have unfortunately found them to be less than efficient. When our ice machine stopped working, I had to make three maintenance requests because they just change a part and go on their way. Eventually my husband was the one to figure out the issue. But the BIGGEST issue was when our kitchen sink was leaking. Maintenance came quickly and fixed the issue, but they failed to reattach the hose to the dishwasher. We woke up that morning to our kitchen completely flooded and a few items under our sink ruined. After-hour courtesy officer issues: Everyone knows when living at an apartment, you never know what kind of neighbors you'll have. Unfortunately, while many of them have been great and it really is a nice community, some of them have been rowdy. I've placed calls to the courtesy officer on a few occasions, but they've never picked up. It's unclear to me to what extent my noise concerns were taken into consideration, but they were unfortunately never handled in the moment. Fetch: You'll have to pay an extra 10 a month to receive packages via a mail forwarder called Fetch. While my experience with Fetch has generally been sufficient and relatively convenient, I have experienced package theft from the couriers, lost mail, and my packages delivered to the wrong addresses. These issues thankfully aren't super common, but they're a real pain when they do occur. Also thankfully, you can choose verification required for your deliveries, which is what I've been doing from now on to prevent most of these issues. Reserved parking added: It's a minor thing but feels like a money grab. It's a big lot and I've never once had an issue with parking, and therefore I don't see a need for reserved parking. But a few of the better parking spots were changed into reserved parking in the attempt to extract a little extra money each month. Unsurprisingly, it doesn't really seem as if anyone has gone for these spots yet. It's more of an annoyance that they even exist if anything. Overall I have loved living at The Point. It's genuinely been one of my favorite places I've lived, but these downsides keep it from a full recommendation for me.
Today I toured the complex with Elliot. He was sooo welcoming and I loved his positive energy! He gave a wonderful, detailed and exciting tour which was very refreshing being that I am new to Jacksonville and have done many tours. The amenities are beautiful, clean and upscale. The gym is advanced and most importantly very clean! I know my 6 year old pup will love the walking trails and having well kept dog park. Very excited to call The Point my new home next month! Thanks Elliot, I can’t wait to see you around!!
Getting right to 'the point'~ pun intended~😉 The community is awesome, office team & maintenance are highly responsive, the area is perfect access to shopping, dining, etc. It's walking friendly, well lit, quiet & clean. The interior is modern and the amenities have a quiet elegance that's well presented. 💛 Elliott provided an excellent tour & outstanding introduction to the community ~ he has such class, grace & presence, very memorable from the 1st inquiry. The follow-up, clear understanding of needs & collaboration to make things flow effortlessly is a super power. 👌 Holly & Liz~ Service Excellence! No question goes unanswered. Outstanding leadership 👏 The maintenance team runs like a well-oiled machine. Clean entry/ exit, the follow-up is on point [pun intended, again] - the communication is clear and timely. ☀️ AI friendly- Oliver [my bestie] has got you covered with just about everything. 🥰✨️ This place is a little slice of paradise minutes from almost everything! Worth a taking look... & that's The Point 😉🙌
Wonderful for young families. I have lived at the point for a few months now in building 700 and it has been a great experience. The management is top tier. Any time we have had a noise problem, a weird smell, a broken dryer they have been sooooo responsive. The maintenance staff are extremely thoughtful. There has been multiple times where I was walking my garbage to the trash compactor and the Hispanic maintenance man grabbed my trash for me and took it for me. They are just very kind here. I see young families with their babies here all of the time, very safe if you need an affordable place to live that’s pet friendly, family friendly and walkable. There is a shopping area nearby where my husband gets his haircut, we frequently get coffee from lucky goat or run to the gas station for any last minute late night things we need. Seriously can’t recommend it enough! CLEAN UNITS, no pests and overall wonderful experience!
I want to give a big thank you to Evans, the maintenance professional who takes care of issues in my apartment. He is always prompt, professional, and incredibly helpful whenever something needs attention. No matter the problem, big or small, Evans approaches it with a positive attitude and a clear commitment to getting things fixed the right way. What really stands out is how respectful and courteous he is. He takes the time to explain what he’s doing, works efficiently, and always leaves the space clean after completing the job. It’s reassuring to know that when something goes wrong, Evans is someone you can rely on to handle it quickly and professionally. Great service like this truly makes apartment living easier and more comfortable. Evans does an outstanding job, and his hard work and dedication definitely deserve recognition. Thank you for everything you do!
