If you’re looking for a luxury hotel, this probably isn’t the place for you. But if you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, unique place to stay in the heart of St. Augustine, we absolutely loved the Pirate Haus! Our room was simple but had everything we needed, a VERY comfortable king bed plus two sets of bunk beds, making it perfect for families or groups. One of my favorite parts.. No TV in the room! It was so nice to unplug, relax, and actually enjoy being in such a beautiful historic city. The staff truly made our stay. Pirate Mary, from Italy, was incredibly sweet and welcoming, and the new innkeeper, Pirate Azzy, from Lithuania, was outstanding. He was always quick to respond, friendly, helpful, and genuinely cared that everyone had a great experience. The Pirate Haus has a fun, laid-back atmosphere with no unnecessary frills, just comfortable accommodations, wonderful people, and a fantastic location. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back the next time we’re in St. Augustine, which won’t be long! Thanks for making us feel right at home, mateys! 🏴☠️❤️
It's right in the center of things. My wife and kids loved the pirate feel of the lnn, it just felt right in the location and for the price it was well worth it. Our room had a king size bed with two bunk beds...and they were surprisingly comfortable. We spent two nights here after a week long vacation at the Palm Beach resort. There is a car parking at the back for $15 a night. It reminds me of one of my fav inn/B&B in Annapolis MD, right in the center of the city. I recommend this place
This place is incredibly misleading. It’s advertised as a bed & breakfast, but it’s much closer to a hostel. Cleanliness was a major issue. We were genuinely hesitant to sleep in the beds. The shared back room that all guests have access to looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in ages, the couches were visibly dirty, and the mini fridge in our room was filthy. The bathroom wasn’t much better. There’s literally a sign telling guests not to use the bathtub because it will overflow. If the bathtub can’t be used, it shouldn’t be part of the room’s advertised amenities. The only positive was that our kids enjoyed the pirate theme and watching the toy ships in the back room. Lots of random weirdos in and out. A homeless person could prob scrape somebody up cash on the side of the road and probably stay here for the night without question. I honestly don’t understand how this property has a 4.8-star rating. The reviews have to be fake. The premium price seems to be based entirely on the location, not the accommodations. In its current condition, this is a $50-a-night property at best.
We had an amazing time at this totally unique Inn. Location was perfect, my granddaughter could not wait to sign up for the pancake breakfast every morning. Staff was amazing super friendly and helpful. Not your typical hotel, but very homie and comfortable. The living room has a wide variety of books and games.
We’ve been coming to the Pirate Haus for years with our five kids! We adore the fun rooms, the pancake breakfast, and the ability to walk out the door and step right into all the action in St Augustine! We recommend it to everyone we know. Check it out, you won’t be sorry!
