I've been to this location twice now, and I waited to leave a review until I had experienced both lunch and dinner. For both meals, it was evident that the attention to detail in the recipes was well thought out and perfectly executed. We had two pasta dishes, along with their bread and burrata, and the drinks were all top notch, real craft cocktails. For dessert, the bread pudding was excellent, and in the afternoon they have a bread pudding style appetizer that rocks too. Ryan was an awesome waiter, and Jonathan the manager was great as well. Both were attentive and on top of their game. This place has now become one of our favorite spots.
We came in expecting a nice dinner, but left feeling like this place is better suited for appetizers and drinks than a quality dinner. I ordered the $45 New York strip medium-rare. Unfortunately, it came out overcooked and lacked seasoning and flavor. I had to add salt and pepper just to make it enjoyable. The Cajun zucchini and tomatoes were okay but also needed more seasoning. For a $45 steak, I expected much better quality and presentation. My wife ordered the grouper tacos, and they were disappointing as well. The fried grouper wasn't crispy—it was soggy with a slimy texture, which completely ruined the tacos. While we were eating, the gentleman next to us sent his snapper back because he said it was bad, which didn't inspire much confidence. The presentation of both dishes was underwhelming and didn't match the prices being charged. The service was friendly, and I could see this being a decent place to stop for a cocktail and an appetizer, but based on our experience, I wouldn't recommend it as a place for dinner. We should have just gone to Chubby's.
Brekky at The Local today on Solana in PVB. Super yum!! So happy we thought to go here. Food was delicious!! Service was outstanding and it was so comfortable sitting outside on the patio. It was breezy and when it started to rain it just added to the chill vibe. We were covered, didn’t get wet and were carefully checked on by the manager in case we wished to move. So enjoyable. Highly recommend.
I just feel this place lacks an identity. There is plenty of space indoors and outdoors, but it just has an eh feeling. The happy hour specials are pretty good. We tried the sourdough bread and calamari along with a few adult beverages. The bread was nothing memorable, the calamari lacked flavor and would have been better if it was cooked a little bit longer. I do wish the place good luck because it has potential.
We tried The Local in Ponte Vedra Beach for the first time and it was great. The restaurant has a nice Floridian style, bars inside and out, great food and service and the bathrooms were clean. We ordered the Spinach Artichoke dip, salmon fried rice (which was outstanding), fish and chips and finished off with blueberry bread pudding. All delicious!
