2012 - Doug Lane was the key to success for a major renovation of our condo. We interviewed several architects before choosing Doug for our project. From our first meeting, his creative ideas flowed, and the result is amazing. Doug drew the plans, provided detailed specs, and oversaw much of the work. Not only is it beautiful (everyone says so), but the reconfigured space functions better than we could have imagined. Doug really listened to our ideas, needs and desires, and was able to satisfy those while dealing with the complexities and limitations of renovations in a condo building. He worked hand-in-hand with our contractor to give us the best possible outcome. His role was made more significant because we were away from Jacksonville for most of the time that the project was underway. We cannot say enough good things about Doug Lane and his team. We highly recommend them. Buddy and Brenda Pollak 2025 - I am in the middle of my second renovation project with Doug Lane providing architectural services and sage advice. I have no doubt that the outcome of this project will be just as good as Phase 1 was. After building numerous homes and renovating several others, I know that the difference between a dream project and a nightmare one is the team you assemble. With Doug as the architect and Ryan Parde and John Comee (both recommended by Doug) rounding out our contracting team, I know the end result will be outstanding. Brenda Pollak 2026 - My second project led by Doug Lane is complete and I could not be happier. Doug did the initial architectural plans, then followed the project through to completion. This was a challenging project because of the concrete structure of my condo building. Doug worked with the contractors, engineers and governmental authorities to solve each and every challenge. His ability to make the best use of a space is amazing, plus he is kind and caring and helpful in every way. Thanks, Doug! Brenda Pollak

Doug Lane delivered exceptional results on a very challenging historic renovation. Worked with The Lane Group on a very unique project. Doug was extremely knowledgeable and helped guide myself and the clients I was representing through the project. Doug and his team are thorough and detail oriented. Every thing was meticulously planned and executed. If you're looking to have any work done on your home, The Lane Group should be your first call.
Approximately 10 years ago, Doug Lane called my company Avondale Window Restoration Company to look at a new project he was starting in Historic Avondale. This home on Richmond Street was now recently purchased by John Hove and his wife. This home was built in the early 1900's with beautiful Crittal steel windows from England. I met Doug Lane and John Hove to discuss the process needed to restore the Crittal windows. John Hove and his wife agreed to the plan Avondale Window Restoration would do to restore 4 windows from the garage. We carefully removed the fasteners from each of the 4 windows and boarded up the openings to secure the property. We then marked and labeled each piece of historic glass with no damage. We then removed the hardware, hinges and openers, to clean any and all debris from each piece, in its dark patina. We sandblasted each steel with walnuts to remove the 110 years of rust and paint. We then repaired and welded 2 of the frames where they had damage. We made new drain holes in each steel frame, so not to be able to hold water and rust again. We applied and epoxy primer and epoxy paint the owner requested I called Doug Lane to let him know we had the 4 Crittal windows ready. I sent Doug Lane the invoice of approximately $7,500.00 to review and get with John Hove for Mr Hove's approval and a date to meet at the home to drop off the windows and get my payment. Doug Lane called me later that afternoon and said John Hove approved the invoice and for me to bring the completed windows the next day When I arrived to the home and started to pull the historic windows out of my truck, Doug said that John Hove now would only pay me partially for the 3 months of work Avondale Window Restoration just did. Even after me having a signed agreement from John Hove and Doug Lane just 12 hours prior. This is where I should have refunded delivery of the windows and filed a police and sought legal advice to get my $7500.00. This fiasco Doug Lane caused one week before Christmas, I had four employees that I had to pay. John Hove paid 1/2 approximately, Doug Lane apologize and said he would get me more work.
