An Absolute 5-Star Experience from Start to Finish! A fantastic Venue and Restaurant! We recently had our wedding at The Hilltop, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the venue, the food, the service, and the management. Even though it rained and was a hot, humid day, the inside of this venue is so spectacular that staying in the air conditioning to take photos was a dream. The grounds are gorgeous, and the indoor structure—with its library feel, old-fashioned wood paneling, stunning wood doors, rich red carpeting, piano, and that beautiful staircase in the bar—made for the most breathtaking wedding pictures I have ever seen. Our rehearsal dinner there was equally perfect. The staff went above and beyond to make our day flawless: Chad (General Manager & Chef): A close friend of my husband, an incredibly nice guy, and a phenomenal chef. The food was absolutely outstanding. Rachel: Handled our invoices, setup details, and food coordination perfectly. She was a massive help throughout the whole process and on the big day. Pam (Owner/Part-Owner): Pam was a lifesaver. She helped us out tremendously and even bought the majority of my Christmas-themed wedding decorations from me afterward! Leanne: She may handle the books, but on the day of the wedding, she provided excellent service. She took great care of us in the private bridal room, bringing in our cocktail hour food so we could relax behind closed doors. Jerry: The absolute sweetest, most professional person. He did a damn good job setting up the ballroom in our colors, going the extra mile to put on the white chair covers and perfectly tie the red bows. The BartenderAdam: I don't even have enough positive words for his professionalism and kindness. He makes the absolute best espresso martinis! He brought drinks right to our head table without us even asking, and kept them coming while we were taking photos. He impressed our guests so much that my VFW manager wanted to hire him on the spot! The Servers & Kitchen Staff: Incredibly attentive and helpful. They kept the cocktail hour and dinner running seamlessly. To top it all off, they were incredibly accommodating the next day. They had already taken down and beautifully separated all of our decorations, giving us plenty of time to pack up. Everyone at The Hilltop was available for anything we requested. Food, service, management, and atmosphere are all a perfect 10/10. Thank you all for making our wedding unforgettable!
One of our local favorites for special occasions. We've never been disappointed by the entrees. Service is exceptional. Even more exceptional is Winston, the pianist, if you go on a Friday evening. Reservations suggested.
First time at this fine dining restaurant. Food and service was top notch from highly trained staff. Robert was our staff. The filet mignon was tender and juicy and cooked to perfection but the mashed potatoes mix was truly delicious and a very interesting mix - I will spare the details so you can find out for yourself the secret. The dessert was spectacular and served as a wonderful cap to a perfect night. The setting and atmosphere were very classy but having a real person playing the real grand piano puts this place into an entirely different bracket that no other restaurant in Clay County can compete with. The owner and head chef, Chad Davis, took the time to come out and check the floor and guests to see that things were up to his high standards. Must say that I think we have found a new favorite place for date night or when we have special occasions or guests in town. So happy we finally were able to check this impressive place out. We loved it!!
Such a hidden gem. It was so beautiful...The bathrooms could use an upgrade...And the buffet style was so so...I got the beef and potatoes and veggies... I loved the zucchini and potatoes...I asked for a salad alternative for the caeser...and I got a yummy salad with poppyseed dressing...The cheese and fruit bar was so good! The service was prompt and so kind! It was truly a great experience! Thank you❤️
My husband and I visited the restaurant to celebrate the New Year. An old mansion in a residential area, the garden is neglected and needs attention and be prepared that there is no light in the parking lot and this is quite dangerous. But now about the good. The food was excellent and we can sing an ode to the chef. Spare ribs, fish, shrimp cocktail with an incomparable sauce, crab soup. It is very tasty, guys. We were pleased with the presence of butter on the table. A huge thank you to the chef for his skill and to all the staff for a feast for the stomach! Our waiter was nice and polite and easy to talk to. We will definitely visit the restaurant again. Happy New Year to everyone!
