I love to support small businesses. I don't live in Jacksonville but I have a lot of family and friends that live there. So I call the flower pot after looking at their reviews to send flowers to my uncle & aunt we had a death in the family. I spoke to the owner Malinda who was very pleasant. I seen they had long stem roses the price was reasonable so I ordered the 18 long stem roses 12 white with 6 red roses roses to put in the middle of the white roses Malinda said oh they are going to be beautiful and to be delivered 12pm the next day. I Gave and spelled the names to put on the card where to be delivered to and phone number and name of my aunt so the flowers where not left outside in the heat and the names of whom the flowers were from. The flowers wasn't delivered at the the time promised i was told no one answered the door My aunt was home the driver went back my aunt said he knocked sat the flowers on the ground before she could open the door and walked away. My aunt sent me a picture.... I called the flower pot and said I seen the picture of the roses they don't look like long stem they look like regular roses she said we have to cut them to put in the vase..... I said thank you sorry to had to call again I don't mean to bother you and hung up nicely..... you see the card with the flowers it wasn't addressed the way I said with the time nor was the flowers arranged the way I had asked and no one called my aunt they said they got no answer when they went by the first time and rang the bell when she was home all day. The receipt was wrong when I purchased the roses at first she said it was the correct price then she seen for herself I was right about the price on their own website and refunded the money she did a new receipt. I still gave the business a chance. Long stem roses are clipped in put in a TALL vase. The arrangement no words it wasn't as I asked......I asked for a ribbon around the vase she said we do that....no ribbon or bow just a plain vase. This is my truth. If they did all i asked maybe they would get 5 stars and not 1 star. The reviews are important to the business just as much to customers so I hope you can take constructive criticism and respectfully listen to your customers when doing business. Thank you.
This is a hidden gem in Jacksonville! I am not a local and had to find a florist who could provide custom bouquets at the last minute. I gave them a call to place an order and they were so kind but didn't have the exact flowers I was looking for due to the short turnaround. They even offered for me to come to the shop to see what was available. When I arrived, everyone was so nice and welcoming. I loved that I could see the florists working on different arrangements. I ended up telling them to do what they do best and just make it pretty. This is a black owned, family-run business and while I was waiting for my bouquets, I was overwhelmed with the hospitality. They truly treated me like family from the moment I came in the shop. The flowers were fresh, arranged well, and the prices were fair. Thank you to The Flower Pot for providing beautiful bouquets for my friend's retirement ceremony for the US Marine Corps.
Everything doesn't go as planned all the time, and that's understandable. I ordered flowers for my sister-in-law for the first Valentine's Day following my brother's passing. The bouquet was supposed to include a small balloon, but it did not. I called The Flower Pot to have them refund the $8 to my credit card, but the lady on the phone said, "NO, we're going to deliver the balloon, and we apologize". I mentioned that my sister-in-law's birthday was coming up, and asked if maybe they could send a Happy Birthday balloon instead, "of course" she said. Well not only did they send a balloon, but a small arrangement of flowers with it. That's the way you deliver GREAT customer service! Thank you!
Recently, I had the responsibility of organizing my high school reunion and was in need of floral centerpieces. I came across the The Flower Pot through a friend and was amazed at her work. Mrs Hicks was very communicative and responsive in offering her services even on short notice. She mentioned that due to time they would not be elaborate but these arrangements were FAR from simple. The flowers were beautiful and a great addition to the event. I definitely recommend for any special occasion or event.
