The Floridian Restaurant

A celiacs DREAM. We loved Floridian at its old location, and are so happy to have them back! The new space is absolutely beautiful, staff is so kind and knowledgeable, and the food is truly amazing. I have celiac disease, which results in me having a severe gluten allergy. A good 80% of the menu is or can be made gluten free, and it’s so wonderful to have so many options to choose from. Everything that goes in their fryers is GF, so all fried things are safe, including the seasoned and perfectly crispy French fries that came with the Cuban sandwich we ordered. The GF bun was one of the best I’ve had, and the flavor of everything was incredible. Each time they brought a dish out, they told me everything was “celiac safe”! It’s so rare that I find such wonderful and thoughtful places that I can safely eat, and the people at Floridian have mastered the effort of consideration for those with gluten allergies. Had a chance to visit the newly relocated Floridian restaurant. Welcomed to a nice big beer garden out front and sat inside the restaurant. The decor was nice and felt very low country-esque. We had lunch so the menu was limited. Started off with their cheese plate, which offered four cheeses and some fruit, apple butter and bread. One of the better cheese boards I’ve had for sure. Also split their fish sandwich. I absolutely loved the slaw they put on the bun, and the fish (flounder today) was cooked beautifully. There is a $2.50 upcharge for fries. The fries looked house cut, but the crispness was lacking. They could’ve benefited from another fry. Overall the experience was good. The food was good and the service was good. Would definitely go back to try some other menu items. Ample parking and very close to St Augustine beach.

Beautiful restaurant with great decor and ultra clean. Gorgeous wood paneling and trendy cool lighting. Perfect service from Lorelei. Food came out nice and hot! The hummus and bean dip appetizer was very flavorful and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The Dune Donkey Swamp Pony cocktail had a fun presentation and tasted great! My favorite was the Beet and Berry salad with the fresh Flounder- delicious! The Darned Good Sandwich was also delicious. The French fries were tasty but were not very crisp and a bit on the stingy side. Make a reservation. Nice outside area too.

We visited the Floridian for lunch because of its good rating, but most of our party was disappointed with the food. It sounded good on the menu, but it didn't deliver on the taste. I guess we were expecting the traditional southern flavors, but it wasn't that. The service was friendly. The dining room was incredibly loud, and it was hard d to talk.
