It was such a blessing to be able to experience the most important moment of my life at The Family Birth Place. I was high risk and induced at 36+6 due to high blood pressure. My OB (Hyler) delivers there so of course I was familiar and comfortable with my own care team. However, before going in I was scared of not knowing any of the nurses. However, these nurses who were strangers to me treated me as if I were family. I had a long hard induction because my body wasn’t happy with having to give birth earlier than expected. My nurses gave me pep talks when I was ready to throw in the towel and ask for a c-section and kept me going. They were so kind, empathetic, and great motivators. What a special team St. Vincent’s Middleburg Labor & Delivery has. I wouldn’t have changed anything about the care I received. 💕

When I was pregnant I was assured that this location had competent doctors on staff "at all times". However when it came time for me to deliver my baby, I was surrounded by four 19 year old nurses... for 24 hours straight! I repeatedly asked for a doctor and was told, sorry they're busy. After an almost deadly bacterial infection and a million rounds of antibiotics later my newborn did survive. Honestly the scariest experience of my entire life. I'm only writing this so no mother will ever have to go through the horror that I did.
Stunningly there is no phone number for the place that works.
