NOPE NOPE NOPE ! Planned an afternoon tea with friends and felt horrible for recommending we try this place. First off it was incredibly hot, they use window units and because of the table sitting directly in front of the unit getting cold they turned it up warmer and our table was sweating the entire time and had to ask for water multiple times just to cool off. Secondly, this was NOT afternoon tea! When the server said this is the American version and started giving us directions on how to order we were all confused. We later found out that out of 5 people we had to pick 3 sandwiches to share. The sandwiches were the equivalent of your Aunt preparing for your baby shower in the 80s. Nothing fresh and simple cheap white loaf breads and not even Wonder Bread quality. The scones "American biscuits" 🙄 were probably made fresh and had good flavor but one each. Not a selection of Scones, wait not scones, but still no variety of scones for each person. The pasties were a hot mess! Pretty sure they went to Publix and bought things before the day and I'm sure they were Publix day or two before fresh. Now let's get into the real problem! We had one plate, only 3 sandwhich choices, and 3 tea flavor choices for 5 people!!! FIVE! So if you don't all enjoy the same tastes, then tough luck. You just spent $60 on "your" brunch and didn't enjoy it. The other thing...$60? For $60 we should have our own tiered plates with multiple minis and our own teapot of tea. The server SERIOUSLY told us, we don't have enough teapots so you have to share. We were the second table for lunch.... Just WOW! I suggest if you want to drop $400 on afternoon tea for you and your friends, just don't do it here. Until this pub know proper high tea, I suggest they please stop robbing those who would have a first time go around. Remember the one time and gone tourist aren't the ones going to keep you in business; your locals are, so maybe provide quality or just don't serve something you have no passion for. This felt like a tourist money grab and nothing more.
Came in for a bite to eat before a concert and to catch some of the world cup. Was a great location and had the game on although the location was a bit warm for a FL summer day (didn't feel much cooler inside to be honest, the only cooling seemed like a slow overhead fan). Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Only complaint was the food/beer selection for this type of pub was not good quality. Nothing was on tap despite all the taps behind the bar, they only served a handful of standard beer in bottles (Bud Light, Budweiser, Stella, and a couple of others that were similar). Food was not impressive. We selected the cheeseburgers which weren't good which we suspected that it might be the case when we asked for a burger a specific way and were told it was "only cooked one way." It came out and sadly looked like an overcooked microwave burger, completely tasteless which was disappointing for especially for the price. Someone else in the pub at the bar ordered fish and chips which came with fries which looked ok but they weren't with us so I can't say for sure (I didn't see this on the menu but I think it was a special). Mixed experience overall but very kind staff so I don't want to be too harsh. I would stop in for a drink (if taps were working) and to watch a game but wouldn't order food again in the future as it was overpriced and poor quality. Limited and poor beer selection was also a low point (I had a Budweiser--at least it was cold to combat the heat inside). I could only assume (hope) maybe they were undergoing some renovations or didn't have access to taps which could have attributed to pretty dead atmosphere.
Such a fun experience! We all got to select our own teas and sandwiches, and the scones were baked FRESH. We had an amazing time sampling eachothers choices, the atmosphere was so cute and our server was top notch ans very attentive to our needs and all our questions.
Sunday Tea as a family reunion event. Three generations. One room at the Pub that was decorated like a true English tea room. Food was delicious with a great variety of sweet and savory, sandwiches and pastries. At least a dozen teas to choose from. The server was a delight and provided the adults and children the same friendly service. It is based on a set time. Sunday morning the parking downtown was hard to find so be sure to allow extra time.
We came for our birthdays and did not disappoint! You get to smell and pick your pot of tea and everything is portioned out exactly the number of guests at table. Served beautifully, server was very friendly. Everything was delicious and we were in a nice dining room decorated very antique.
