My experience at this pool was disappointing. I understand that rules exist for safety reasons and must be enforced, especially with children. However, I witnessed a situation where a staff member yelled at a child in a way that I considered inappropriate and unprofessional. Although the child had broken a rule, the way he was treated was not adequate. The employee shouted at him in front of other people and continued to do so until he was pulled out of the pool. The child was visibly frightened and affected by the situation. I believe that the staff's behaviour was unprofessional. Correcting a minor is part of your responsibilities, but doing so in a respectful and calm manner should also be. Children deserve to be treated with dignity, even when they make mistakes. I hope that the administration will take this situation into account and reinforce the importance of respectful and professional communication by its staff.
Hope they clean the pool it's been awhile but it's the dirtiest pool I've seen but it's where I'm from so... But I shower before I get in and don't urinate in the pool like most kids.
Had the opportunity this season to swim a few times at Terry Parker pool. Probably should have gone more often but just never got around to it. Anyway, great pool to do lap swimming. Not overly busy during the week. I realize it is a high school lifeguard run pool but a bummer that it is closed so soon in the season. Plan to visit a lot more next year. I would recommend going if you have a chance.
I have been going to this pool for over two decades now. The pool hasnt changed a bit! It's not necessarily a bad thing, it has been kept up with, it stays clean, and during the summer it's open to the public with life guards. Many swim teams compete here.
I occasionally swim here with a group of school friends. The pool is reasonable clean and there usually isn't too many people. But if you wish to have goggles that cover your nose; you're out of luck as they are against the rules.
