Jess and her practice are true life savers and I cannot say enough good things about them. I came to her very down and confused as a first time mom with a 6day old baby who wouldn’t latch and was losing weight. I was so concerned I was doing everything wrong and my mama heart was bleeding. Not only did Jess respond to my text immediately about scheduling she also reassured me that I was taking the right steps in the meantime. The day of our appointment she took extra time with us really making sure we felt comfortable with the care plan and all the next steps. Baby latched successfully and had a full complete feeding and mama had never felt more prepared. This work is so important and im so happy to have found sunshine lactation!
I am so thankful for Jess at Sunshine Lactation. Breastfeeding was truly the hardest thing I’ve ever done. My son had a lot of difficulty latching and was developing an aversion to the breast. Before meeting Jess I worked with one other LC who really shattered my confidence with breastfeeding. Jess was so supportive and made me feel so much more confident. She explains the science behind latching and breastfeeding and gives sound/doable advice. 100% would not still be breastfeeding without her
We hired Jess immediately after our son was born. He had trouble latching from the very beginning, so we came home from the hospital with a visit already scheduled. She took the time to understand what was going on with him specifically, walked us through what to try, and never made us feel like we were behind or doing something wrong. She's thorough in a way that actually builds your confidence rather than overwhelming you. What I appreciated most is that she meets families where they are. She's not pushing any one approach to feeding, she just wants to help you figure out what works for your baby and your family. I used Jessica for both my kids and she is the best. I saw other lactation consultants (at the hospital, at my pediatrician office) and none were as helpful as Jessica! I’m sending all my friends here because she is that good.
Jess is a true godsend for my breastfeeding journey. I had all but given up at 3 months postpartum after working with a LC that didn’t have near as much knowledge or compassion as Jess. After struggling with thrush, low milk supply, off and on triple feeding, and formula supplementing, I decided I would reach out to Jess as a Hail Mary. It was absolutely the best decision I could have made. I had a few set backs thanks to the flu season but am so proud to say that I am at a full milk supply and my baby is thriving as we start solids. She has been my biggest cheerleader and exactly what I needed to continue on with my breastfeeding journey. 💙💙💙💙
