Summerhouse Beach & Racquet Club

My unit (356) and many others in my building are infested with German roaches. Property management is aware and does not rectify the issue. On day 1 we had to pack up everything and keep it in the car. We rented through VRBO, and the host was willing to give us a 200$ refund (about half of one nights stay) but as I found roaches crawling in my master bath in the middle of the night I really just felt insulted. The pools are not properly balanced chemically, and my niece had to rush out of the pool after the burning sensations made her cry. Myself and my brother in law were so hit by the chlorine that we were seeing white. On top of all that, they have a new gate system where they “buzz you in” except you end up just sitting there honking you horn because nobody is paying attention. I’ve come here every other year for the last decade. This was my most expensive, and least enjoyable, visit to this property. Attached some roach pics for you to enjoy. I won’t be returning, and to the owners of unit 356, you ought to be ashamed of yourselves; these issues have been reported on the Google reviews for years and you won’t close the unit to treat, presumptively because you don’t want to miss your profit margins. Just so everybody is clear the building are all attached and likely every unit in the same building as 356 likely has a significant roach infestation. German roaches are the most invasive and difficult to control roaches in Florida. They will come home with you in your bags, end of story. I’ve been in the pest control business for 18 years now.

We had the best family vacation here in unit 446. This is our third year returning and we love it so much! Our unit is so clean and comfy, allowing us to easily make it home for the week. We are conveniently right next to the pool, which is always clean and the perfect temperature for swimming. The beach is a short walk away and the deck has beautiful views of the sunrise. We saw baby sea turtles, dolphins, crabs and starfish. We are so thankful for our family time together and we look forward to many more memories here!

My husband and I stayed in Condo 121 and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The condo was clean, updated and very nice. A well maintained condo! It was very quiet and just what we were looking for in a week away. The beach was beautiful as well. Highly recommend and will stay again in the future! Clara Hupp

This was our 3rd time staying here, we always stay in the same unit number. We loved the location and how quiet the beach is. We had a great view of the beach and ocean because we had a second floor unit that faces the ocean/beach. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning after this year. They decided to raise the rate for the unit that we have been staying. In 2026 the rate is going to be $1,300.00 more than we paid this year. I can see raising the rate up a little bit if they want to, but $1300.00 from one year to the next, seems a little bit excessive. We will be looking for other options in the future because we enjoy St. Augustine and Crescent Beach.
