Today was my first day at Saint Peter church and I absolutely loved my experience. The people were very friendly and helpful and pastor. Logan‘s sermon was very impactful. I definitely will become a member.
The new pastor seems very nice and theologically solid. However (pastor and family aside), I can say this is one of the coldest and most insular churches I can recall attending. I rarely got any sort of greeting or welcome, and every opportunity I took to get to know people better was poorly met. There just seem to be a few families connecting and relating among themselves, and good luck breaking into that, even with faithful attendance. Discussions were patronizing and awkward. We did not attend for a few weeks due to some family issues, and outside of the pastor once via text, not a word of inquiry. No follow up, no care, nothing when it was needed the most. There is no warmth here. It broke my heart, because there are not exactly a surplus of confessional Lutheran churches in this part of the world. That makes it all the more frustrating.
I've been a member since 2006. Pastor Landes. cares for his members. Became pastor here in 2022. Lives close by. A very friendly congregation .
LCMS Church where fed word and sacrament are faithfully given and scripture is preached.
