St. Augustine Tintype

What an incredible experience! My dad and I walked in not knowing what to expect, but we left absolutely amazed. Matt was fantastic; he took the time to walk us through the entire process, from capturing the image to the final result on the metal sheet. There is something so special about tintype photography, it’s such a fun way to preserve a memory. The results are stunningly clear and have such captivating depth. If you’re looking for a slower, more meaningful way to capture a moment in time, this is absolutely worth it!

If you love photographs and have an affinity for antiques/ vintage aesthetics, this experience is for you! I highly recommend St. Augustine Tintype! And I just can’t say enough nice things about Matt (the photographer/owner). I walked in feeling nervous (with my partner) and we were humbly greeted by just the nicest most easy-going guy who instantly made us feel welcomed to the studio. What I particularly enjoyed was Matt’s knowledge and explanation about the process. He explained everything in detail, step by step, and then collaborated with our ideas while giving us input/ suggestions. Nothing felt awkward or forced. I also enjoyed his excitement and the way he seemed to really appreciate our individual uniqueness, as he tried to capture it in each of our photos. He was so encouraging through each stage of the process. There’s no denying he loves his craft. The best part was watching the images come to life right before our eyes in the solution baths. I honestly really enjoyed this experience so much! I am already hoping to book another session in the near future.

Can’t even begin to describe how lovely this entire experience was. Paid for a single picture but the lighting was off so we took another one and I got to keep both! Matt is obviously so passionate about what he does and he makes you want to love it too just from the way he talks about it. His excitement is infectious. Matt was so kind throughout the entire process and made me feel comfortable being in front of the camera (I am fairly shy). He had the pictures ready for pickup by the next day and they are so perfect! My most favorite birthday gift I’ve ever gotten by far. Wishing nothing but good things for him and his business!! I hopefully will be back for another photo in about a year!

I can’t even begin to explain how great our experience was. We booked our appointment with Matt for a mini session to have a photo taken to announce our engagement. Matt was so patient, kind, and so much fun. He really made us feel comfortable and made sure the results were 10/10. It was amazing watching him develop the photos, and explain the whole process. I don’t really know what I did expect, but I definitely didn’t think I would love my photo as much as I do and leave wanting to bring back our dogs for more! Matt also explained he does events… such a great wedding reception idea. We will absolutely be back. Thank you so much, Matt!
