  READ THIS BEFORE YOU MOVE IN!!! Our experience with Spyglass Apartments was extremely disappointing from the very beginning. When we first moved in, we immediately encountered serious issues with the apartment, including mold and numerous cockroaches, both dead and alive. We had just moved in and were shocked to find these conditions. We documented everything with photographs, emails, receipts, and other records. When we brought these issues to management, our experience with Miranda, Cami, and Tiffany was extremely frustrating. We felt that we were treated rudely and dismissively when we were simply trying to get serious issues in our apartment addressed. At one point, we were told that management did not want to cover the cost of us staying somewhere else and that we could essentially sleep on the other side of the apartment. We continued communicating with the office and going back and forth until the situation was eventually addressed. Despite everything that happened when we first moved in, we chose to move forward respectfully and in good faith rather than immediately escalate the situation. Unfortunately, the problems continued when we moved out. We attempted to provide our required notice, but the email contained a typographical error in the recipient’s domain. After bringing this to management’s attention, we spoke directly with the front office and were specifically told that we did not need to worry about the $1,795 insufficient-notice charge and that it would be waived. The charge was subsequently removed from our account, and we have screenshots documenting the adjustment. The problem is that the $1,795 charge was later reinstated. We have also received inconsistent explanations regarding additional rent-related charges. At different points, we were given different explanations about owing for one additional night versus multiple additional days. Before staying one additional night after the lease ended, we specifically spoke with management and were told that it was acceptable and that we would simply be charged the applicable prorated amount. We are not refusing to pay legitimate charges that we actually owe. We are willing to pay reasonable and properly documented charges. Our issue is the lack of consistency and transparency, particularly when management tells a resident that a $1,795 charge has been waived, removes it from the account, and then later reinstates it. We have formally requested a complete itemized final account, documentation explaining the $1,795 charge and its reinstatement, clarification of the additional rent charges, and an accounting of our $250 deposit. Overall, we tried to handle everything respectfully and in good faith from the day we moved in until the day we moved out. Unfortunately, between the condition of the apartment when we first moved in, the mold and cockroach issues, the way our concerns were handled, the interactions we had with Miranda, Cami, and Tiffany, and the current dispute over our final account, this was not an experience we would want to repeat. If you are considering renting here, I strongly recommend documenting everything from day one. Take photos and videos when you move in, save every email and receipt, and keep screenshots of your resident account and any changes made to your balance. The photos will also be shown in the review !
