Really neat park with something for everyone. Very large playground. There is also a separate toddler playground that is fenced in with astroturf. Public pool. Plenty of parking and covered seating. Beautiful scenery right on the water which gave us a nice breeze. Lots of tree cover for the hot weather.
What a little gem in downtown GCS. We visited in the middle of the week and there were mostly just families with small children at the park. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained and the play areas all appear clean and maintained as well. The pier was nicer than I expected and if I were into fishing, would definitely enjoy it there. They have a kayak launch which was super cool and thoughtful, so folks are not messing up the sandy shoreline. There is ample free parking, some shaded and some full sun. I noticed a few local workers arrive with bagged lunches and sit at benches and enjoy their lunch along the waterfront before getting back in their cars and on their way. The concrete walkways are very nice and well maintained. The Spring is so beautiful, I could stand there hours looking at the crystal clear gurgling waters coming up and overflowing into the pristine public wading pool. * what a wonderful idea to have the outdoor pool filled by the mineral springs! - Note, as with most mineral springs, the water does smell of sulfur if you didn’t realize, just FYI. It being cold and winter for my visit, no getting in the pool for me! I do very much look forward to coming back to lay in the pool when the air is much warmer. There is plenty of restaurants and bars and shops to visit within walking distance and we took 3 hours to check out nearly all of downtown GCS. Highly recommend!
Green Cove Springs Park is a peaceful riverfront park along the St. Johns River with beautiful views, shady picnic areas, and a natural spring pool. It’s perfect for: • Relaxing walks • Fishing • Family picnics • Sunset views
We always enjoy coming here. It's decorated so nice at Christmas time, the park is big with plenty of options for all ages and the spring fed pool & splash pad is great to visit in the summer. Thank you Green Cove for keeping it beautiful!
Beautiful park, right on the water with a spring-fed community pool and stream that feeds into the St. John's River. Great place for any event, and a wonderful opportunity for photos.
