If I could give them 0 stars I would. Upon arrival check in was lengthy and found out pull out sofas were actually futon chairs. Once checked in room seemed very run down and roach infested. Decided since I paid for the week we would stay FOR THE WEEK. When I checked out ON THE LAST DAY I PAID FOR no one was at the desk. I called back the same day to inform them that I had checked out and requested a copy of my folio as well as my deposit be returned. MANAGEMENT stated that they would do just that. Ended up calling them multiple times to have this done without resolve. Once I reached out to guest relations they informed me that they never checked me out until 3 days later and used my deposit to pay for those days. On top of that the hotel stated that they suspected that I smoked in my room and was refusing to return my deposit! As a smoker who legit followed their rules(front desk and maintenance witnessed me smoking outside multiple times) this really pissed me off. Still fighting to get my deposit.
This place definitely has roaches. I would see one in my room every few days and in the hallway. All the door are lock beside the front so you'll have to walk around the whole building when taking out your trash. No point in the cards beside getting into your room. The laundry card reader was taken away so doing laundry is Harder to do now. Coins only with there being only two washer. The pool is has not been filled ever since I been there and was told under maintenance until September at least which will be the cold season. So maybe sometime in 2027 This was extend stay america which became southpoint. I like being left along, but management will knock on your door at least once a week. Even if you tell them you don't need anything. Your charge date can change without you knowing which happen to me and was awoken with loud banging on my door for payment when it wasn't due until they change it without tell you. Their walls are also very thin, so if your trying to sleep you will be hear people in the room next door. I could hear kids yelling and parents screaming very day. So the only thing going for the place is the cheaper price and pretty good location, but with the bug issues and no pool and thin walls I would rather place extra 10 to 20 bucks for a cleaner place. With a working pool.
As a U.S. Army veteran, this was one of the worst hospitality experiences I’ve ever had, and I feel people should know before booking this Extended Stay Baymeadows Salisbury location in Jacksonville. I had a prepaid reservation and arrived ready to check in. On day one, I unloaded all of my belongings, only to be told I could not stay because I only had my military ID and not a Florida ID. I was turned away by management despite the fact that I have successfully used my military ID for hotels, purchases, and many other forms of verification before. This was the first time I had ever been denied with a valid military identification card. Because of that decision, I had to reload all of my belongings, pay for an Uber, and go find another hotel for two days at additional expense. Between the alternate hotel stay and transportation, this cost me well over $170 extra out of pocket, not including the stress and inconvenience. I then had to go to the DMV to obtain a Florida ID, travel back to the original location, and expected the matter to be resolved. Instead, I was told my original reservation had been canceled. Then I was informed I would need to pay another deposit, which was now $150 instead of the original $100. This was one of the highest deposits I’ve ever been charged at an Extended Stay property, especially after already dealing with the prior inconvenience. During my stay, the lingering scent of medical marijuana from my dispensary medication was misunderstood as smoking in the room, even though I repeatedly went outside on camera to use my medication responsibly and in compliance. That misunderstanding added more unnecessary tension. The most disturbing part was management attempting to force the door open while I was trying to unlatch it, which felt aggressive and inappropriate. There was also another employee loudly threatening to call JSO on me while confusing me with someone else who had been trespassed. Overall, I felt disrespected, profiled, and treated with a lack of professionalism. As a veteran who has served this country, I expected basic courtesy, communication, and fairness. Instead, I experienced unnecessary costs, confusion, hostility, and stress. Zero out of ten experience. I strongly recommend guests be cautious with management practices at this location and confirm every detail in advance before booking.
Staff here is knowledgeable and friendly Always go above and beyond. Kay the gm is the epitome of a great leader. She leads by example and their is nothing to small or to big that she won't due for you prior to her arrival we were moving but she rapidly turned things around as continues to make this place great!
This room was absolutely disgusting! I mean nasty! Floors torn socks black, floors had not even been swept, there was nails like figure nails on the floor that worn, only one stove top worked, light and fan above the stove did not work, neither lamps by the bed worked. The table/counter was severely warped! Doors falling apart, every morning they would mop the lobby with water that stank like dirty feet so bad! We tabl travel for work and We planned to stay 6+ months and did not last a week which was the fastest they could transfer us to a different location!
