My husband and I just got married and decided to join a new church to get plugged in and start serving!! We are so thankful that God led us to this incredible church that is so welcoming, friendly and it is clear that the Holy Spirit is prevalent and it is a Bible preaching church. If you are looking for a new home church to build community, start serving, feel poured into, enjoy a Bible study group, this is an incredible place to start! I love seeing every type of Ethnicity, every race , every age and people group that attend here. It is so diverse and beautiful how the Lord brings us all together. Not to mention the worship is incredible ! Give this church a chance and you will find your church home:)
My greatest disappointment with this church was simply that the service could have been impactful, but the pastor so overwhelmed the message with his personal biases, opinions, and politics that the depth of Christ’s teaching was completely lost. Firstly, the screen clearly projected that the topic was Luke 3-9, yet we never read a single verse from said book. Instead, we opened to Matthew and discussed the instructions of Jesus to His disciples on how to address the public on their own. The core of the message was to “wipe the dust from your feet” or in other words to not allow the past to follow you into your present/future. Secondly, this sentiment alone is incredibly moving and applicable to endless aspects of life. And yet, the pastor managed to make the entire conversation about how black people deserve better treatment in the form of free education and special privilege by employers (which is inherently racist despite his desperation to appear as a white ally), how young people are ignorant to the struggles of past generations and the easy way of life they provided us, and honestly I left shortly after the hour mark and he had moved on to talking about his golf game. Thirdly, I would like to briefly dissect things he shared that are unbiblical and entirely his personal philosophies: (1) “We are a ‘white-ish’ church and need to better understand and serve people of color since we could never understand their lament.” Paul very beautifully described how to combat racism as members of God’s Kingdom in Galatians 3:28 — “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Recognizing there are cultures and peoples that are treated worse than others is nothing new and Jesus simply calls us to love our neighbors (all people) as we love ourselves. No need for evening acknowledging skin color. (2)”Young people are living in the easiest time in history.” Aside from this being blatantly false due to the state of the economy, the downfall of morality in our country, and the satanic pedophilic horrors plaguing our society as well as inexcusably dismissive of the difficulties that come with living in a sinful world in any generation, this is also unbiblical. I will list a few scriptures that I recommend reading — 2 Timothy 3:1,13; Ecclesiastes 7:10; Matthew 24:6. Overall, the doctrine of this pastor was abhorrent. The church building is beautiful and the people were welcoming, compassionate, and respectful. But as Jesus said to the Pharisees, “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean.” (Matthew 23:27)
As much as my Husband liked being in church on Sundays but this Church does not take into consideration of Kids with special needs. Something as simple as language delay in a child, there was nothing like inclusion for such child. I believe this church can do better especially if you are teaching about Jesus christ the saviour of the world.
First of all the people were very nice, they held the doors and smiled at you. The place is also incredibly clean with comfortable chairs. The sermon was really bad though. The pastor constantly kept going off topic, giving stories about golfing, childhood church, and even going to the bathroom at his grandma's house. He would say something so basic and then give an example for it which would make him think of a story and then he would give the story... The sermon could've easily been 20 mins based off what he was talking about, but he just kept talking about something else which drew it out to almost an hour before I walked out and he still had 2 more points on the board. He would also give examples with language that made me think of Ai. I will say that he doesn't seem like the main pastor. He did say that he gets sent to other churches which makes me think that the church thinks he actually does a good job. I didn't learn anything and he made fun of his own church music, young people, and called the church full of every race "white-ish" after going on a rant where he tried to seem inclusive, but was just racist.
Big church with a big diverse community and wonderful pastors. The Holy Spirit is definitely present :)
