Plenty of park free parking underneath the bridge. The area at friendship fountain was beautiful, clean and felt safe. Also had beautiful skyline views. The playground was very cute and a dream for young and primary school aged kids. There was a food truck with shaved ice and ice cream, perfect for a hot day. Beautiful city views.
Our 1st time here to enjoy the Jacksonville Light Boat Parade & Fireworks Spectacular Down Town Jacksonville at the Saint John's River Walk across from the Hyatt on the Mortons Steakhouse side in front of the Condo's for Jacksonville's 250th Celebration. "Information About This Fireworks Spectacular" Celebrating America's 250th birthday (the Semiquincentennial). Cities and states across the country are organizing massive America 250 campaigns to mark 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Because of this historic milestone, the City of Jacksonville expanded its usual Fourth of July footprint into a two-day downtown festival featuring the largest fireworks show in the city's history. Prime check-in locations and viewing spots along the St. Johns River include:Friendship Fountain (1015 Museum Cir.)RiversEdge (1915 RiversEdge Blvd.)Both the Northbank & Southbank Riverwalks. Our thoughts... The fireworks display did not speak to 250 years of celebration to us. Savannah's River Street off Bay Street is by far way better. Honestly. We were like... where's the rest. We really don't enjoy saying that. However it's true. Over n Out FranknKimm Downtown Jacksonville Florida July 4th 2026 Saturday FranknKimm
A really nice place for a walk! The area is very clean and feels very safe. There are plenty of trash bins, so there’s no litter on the ground. It’s right by the water along the Riverwalk, with lots of seating options, many benches and plenty of shade. Perfect for a relaxing stroll and enjoying the view.
We’d never more than drove through Jacksonville but spent a night here this weekend and walked seven minutes from the hotel to the Riverwalk after sunset and were not disappointed, as you can see in the photos. Well-lit and very safe: families, couples, children, everyone without feeling busy or cramped. Views of downtown are stunning. Short walk to the fountain in one direction and the sailor statue in the other. Make sure you visit if you’re in the area, not sure where you park, though, if you’re not walking here from elsewhere. You can even walk over the bridge to downtown proper, though that did not appear as safe and inviting as this side of the river, so we turned back.
Beautiful 1.25 mile walk along the river. Plenty of things to see along the river. Great place to get in your steps for the day. I prefer the views at night.
