So this was my first visit to SoNapa Grille and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were celebrating a good friend’s birthday, it was just three guys eating dinner and then heading to the Ponte Vedra concert hall pour some music. Dinner was a great way to start the celebration. A few days before our dinner, I logged on to make reservations. Making reservations were very easy, and when we needed to change the time of the reservation, that was just as easy with a simple phone call for the restaurant. I knew by the way they handled the reservations that the service was going to be excellent, and it was. We were greeted by one of the owners of the restaurant, he was so thrilled we came in that she gave us a bottle of House wine, which was delightful. Bit more than that it showed their commitment to their customers, and the experience of eating at SoNapa. And I was thinking it couldn't get any better, but it did as soon as the food started coming out. And if you read my reviews in the past, then you know that you want the details on the food: Bread Service - an excellent way to start with warm bread, honey butter and the presentation was amazing. Caesar salad - it's OK, nothing special. Next time I'm gonna try one of the other salad options. Lamb lollipops - Grilled to perfection, but what made it was the honey mustard sauce that went with it. I think I could bathe in it. Chicken bites - another excellent appetizer, Chic-fil-a watch out. Wagyu bolognese fusilli - delicious combination of savory Wagyu and traditional Bolognese with pasta. Chicken marsala - served with asparagus and risotto, it was both flavorful and well executed. Such a delicious dish. There are enough things on the menu that I need to come back and try some more things and possibly bring more people, so I can try their food too. The good food was a plus, but I was really impressed with the service of the staff. Sometimes I would be talking and not realize that they were refilling my water, glass or clearing plates, until I turned to look in front of me. Not only that, everybody was happy there, they were glad to serve you, and they made it feel like they really wanted you there that night. As I said, I plan to come back soon.
SoNappa Grille was a great place to meet up with a group of friends. I wasn’t sure how many friends would be joining - it was an open happy hour of sorts. We started at the bar, and when our group grew to 5, they moved us to a large round table and continued to add chairs as the party grew. I don’t know if we just got lucky, but I sincerely appreciated how accommodating our server was in ensuring that all our needs were met even as we expanded our group size. Atmosphere is very classy and truly feels like a winery. The bar area is large with quite a few seats at the circular bar and some booths and two-tops surrounding. The dining area had many different table set-ups. Food was also excellent! I loved the butter flight (bread was amazing) and I thoroughly enjoyed the lamb appetizer plate. Service was excellent. Prices were fair. And the California wines were reasonably priced and quite good. If you know your party size, I suggest a reservation. However, it thankfully worked out for us without a sure count/time.
The decor in SoNapa Grille transported us to elegant wine country with dark wood, and cork ceilings with small touches of white coastal decor to connect to this Florida location. Our server was impeccable, explaining how the menu changes about four times a year to stay fresh and seasonal, but certain items have special notations that stay on the menu by popular demand of their regulars. We went during happy hour and devoured the burrata and spinach dip for $8 each, very reasonable for the portion and quality. My friend wanted to customize her meal and our server was able to make suggestions to create the perfect hot chicken half wedge salad for her with goat cheese. I had the burger, which was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had, super juicy with caramelized onions, a delicious sauce and super soft bun, and the datil pepper brussel sprouts. The only downside is that the menu had more delicious things we wanted to try but didn’t have room to, but that just means we’ll have to come back! Make SoNapa Grille your next date night/girls night out in the heart of Jax Beach!
The short rib ravioli was incredible and definitely lived up to the hype. The restaurant has a really nice atmosphere, and Melissa made the experience even better. She was friendly, attentive, and knew the menu inside and out. She gave us great recommendations and was on top of everything throughout the meal. Definitely one of those servers who makes you want to come back. Great food, great atmosphere, and even better service. We’ll definitely be back!
We were a party of 4 for dinner. We started with wine and then ordered our entrees: 2 Salmon 1 Ribeye 1 Short Rib and Mushroom Ravioli 1 Half Wedge 1 Half Caesar Everything tasted amazing. And our server was fantastic. We will be back again.
