If you're looking for a delightful culinary experience in downtown Jacksonville, look no further than Something Better café + kitchen. My wife and I have dined here three times now, and each visit has been a revelation! We started with their ice chai lattes, which are perfectly spiced and refreshing. As adventurous eaters, we decided to tackle their flatbread offerings, indulging in the pepperoni, Margherita, BBQ chicken, and the lox. Each flatbread is a testament to the café's commitment to quality ingredients and bold flavors. We also tried their BLT, and it did not disappoint! The balance of crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, and ripe tomatoes with a garlic aioli spread was executed flawlessly, making it one of the best versions we've ever had. What truly amazed us were the toppings that typically fall outside our preferences - salmon, tomatoes, and onions. Yet, to our surprise, these ingredients complemented each dish beautifully, transforming our perceptions entirely. The lox flatbread, in particular, was an extraordinary experience with the capers being my favorite addition. We found ourselves appreciating flavors we usually shy away from, making it a highlight of our visits. Everything we've sampled at Something Better has been nothing short of exceptional, showcasing a thoughtful approach to both traditional and innovative café fare. We highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone in the area. We’ll definitely be returning to continue our delicious journey through their menu…there’s still so much more to explore!
The staff/owners are always friendly and their food is delicious! I have only had their lunch entrees and coffee/espresso drinks so far and all have been really good! I’m glad they are located in such an easily accessible location for many Downtown offices to reach, but it’s also not far from the Northbank Riverwalk and new Riverfront Plaza park.
I walk past this place every day, and this afternoon I finally stopped in because I noticed tacos on the menu. With Mexico's soccer match tonight, tacos just felt like a fitting choice. Although, I honestly wasn't expecting much. I was very pleasantly surprised. The carnitas were flavorful and cooked perfectly. Loved the corn tortillas! They came with pickled onions and cilantro and tasted authentic and delicious. They were good enough to rival some of my favorite Mexican taco spots. I'll definitely be recommending this place and ordering from here again!
Delicious lunch! I had the Cuban sandwich and the Greek bowl. The sandwich was served hot and the pork was savory and juicy. The Greek bowl was balanced with fresh ingredients and chicken. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick. I look forward to coming back!
Last week when I visited was apparently the grand opening of this location, and I was pleasantly surprised to see they had delicious food! The smoothie I had was amazing 😋.
