⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Smoke Southern BBQ – St. Augustine, FL If you’re looking for BBQ that’ll make you want to loosen your belt, slap your grandma’s recipe book shut, and thank the good Lord for smoked meat, then Smoke Southern BBQ is a MUST-STOP! 😂🔥 Tucked away in the Fountain of Youth area of St. Augustine, this place is serving up some seriously good Southern tradition! Nate was professional and on point, while Lance seemed like the brains behind the operation. 😎 I didn’t catch our cashier’s name, but she was polite, helpful, and her recommendations were absolutely amazing! Now, let’s talk about the FOOD! 🤤 🍖 The ribs? Falling-off-the-bone tender. No wrestling match required! 🥩 The brisket? So finger-licking good, I almost considered asking for a private moment with my plate. 🥪 The Cuban sandwich? VERY good! And coming from someone who’s had a Cuban in Miami, that’s saying something! It came close to giving Miami a run for its money! 🫘 The sides? Absolutely ON POINT! We’re talking real-deal BBQ beans, creamy and cheesy goodness, potato salad that tasted just like Grandma made it, and pickled onions so good that even an onion hater like me had to give them their flowers! 🧅😂 Everything tasted like somebody’s Southern grandma was back there in the kitchen making sure nobody left hungry or disappointed. The food was amazing, the service was professional and friendly, and the recommendations were spot-on. You can tell there’s some serious love going into what they’re serving. Smoke Southern BBQ, y’all understood the assignment! Five stars, full stomach, happy heart, and absolutely ZERO regrets! We’ll DEFINITELY be returning. Keep that smoke rolling and keep that Southern tradition alive! 🔥🤠
Smoked Southern BBQ survives almost entirely on its location. The food wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t worth the price. It feels like a place that knows tourists are already there for the Fountain of Youth and charges accordingly. The pulled pork sandwich was bland and didn’t come with nearly enough sauce. The fries were very over done and had so much oil it made my stomach heavy and bloated. Nothing tasted bad, but nothing made me want to come back either. For authentic Southern BBQ, I’ve had much better at half the price. Overall: edible, forgettable, and overpriced. The Fountain of Youth may be legendary, but this BBQ isn’t.
At first I thought it was going to be a tourist spot as it was in the Foundation of Youth compound, but was impressed with the quality of the food and I know Southern Bar B Que living in most of the Southern states. I definitely recommend and the staff was great, even got a visit from a peacock!
After a day of wandering the Archaeological Park, this food sure hit the spot. The food was good for it not being in a very busy spot. I got the smoked turkey sandwich and my wife got the Cuban. The fries were the best part though.
Being this was at a tourist destination, I expected the pricing to be quite high for a barbecue rib platter at a price of less than $15 including a drink. I didn’t know what to expect. Wow what a pleasant surprise it was generous portions of barbecue ribs, baked beans, coleslaw, and butter fried bread. Atmosphere was wonderful. There were peacocks walking about in a park like setting. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone just for the food alone. However, basic setting, and Peacock made it really special.
