  Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience with Sir Speedy. I had used Pips in the past before Sir Speedy bought them out, and I always appreciated that they provided a proof before printing. When I called Sir Speedy, the employee I spoke with was immediately rude and dismissive. She gave me an email address and told me to send over my PDF for a 24x36 poster so they could “take a look.” They confirmed they received it, and then the next thing I heard was that the poster was ready for pickup. In my experience with other printers, there is usually some sort of proofing or review process before printing, especially for such a large item. The turnaround time was fast, which is why I’m giving two stars instead of one. However, when I picked up the poster, the print was dramatically darker than the PDF I submitted. The difference was very obvious, yet no one mentioned it or checked with me before printing. I understand that RGB vs. CMYK issues can happen, but that is exactly why proofs exist, and I was never sent one. After bringing the poster home, I called and politely explained the issue. I acknowledged that some of the fault may have been on my end with formatting, but I asked whether they would consider a reprint since no proof had been provided. They told me I would need to come in and show them the poster first. When I brought in the original print, I was met by another rude employee at the front desk. After a lot of back and forth, they agreed to reprint the poster “at a discount.” I adjusted the image myself to make it lighter, resent the file, and once again they printed it without sending a proof. They gave me only 20% off the reprint and acted as though they were doing me a huge favor. To make matters worse, they initially tried to send me home with only one poster, despite the fact that I had paid for two. When I asked about the original print, the front desk employee casually said, “I think we tossed it.” Thankfully, I insisted they check, and they eventually found it in the back. Overall, the experience felt careless, dismissive, and highly unprofessional. If you decide to use them, I would strongly recommend explicitly requesting a proof and holding them accountable.
