We had a last minute trip to Jacksonville. An 8 hour drive for us. I spent 2 hours looking at rooms. Our only need? A king bed. So according to Hotels.com, Booking.com and your own website? There were 5 reg king rooms and 2 club level? We verified this before booking! When we arrived, we were NOT told and sent to a room on the top floor with 2 queens. We paid more for the king room! The front desk told us there was no guarantee and it was an accident? No I paid in full at booking. Hours before we arrived. The rooms were sold after we paid! Last time I will ever trust or stay with Marriott! Oh and there was blood on one of the beds and we couldn’t use it!
Enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Big bonus about this Sheraton is that there is NO pet fee! All pets are assigned to floor 2, where I had a nicely renovated room with comfy king bed but terrible pillows. The location is very near the freeway but set back far enough that it’s still quiet and backs up to a serene river. There’s a nice pet area behind the hotel, all fenced in, along with ping pong, corn hole, some other games and great lounge areas. The elite lounge is located in a room through the restaurant and is a small but nice place to grab an abbreviated breakfast and evening appetizers such as kebabs, charcuterie, fruit, snacks and drinks. Note that there’s a $10/nt parking fee. The exceptional gym is huge! and has a great array of equipment. Also has an indoor pool. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Jacksonville/St. Augustine.
We arrived at 5 PM and our room wasn't ready. Front desk offered a single king room for three people. Seems a manager was behind on quality checking rooms per an overheard convo. Front desk worked it out in under 30 mins. Room didn't have complete sets of towels, the tub was stained, there was a long strand of hair in the sink. Housekeeping cleaned the bathroom, but somehow our toilet and seat was dirtier post cleaning. Front desk, bar and breakfast buffet staff was outstanding. Whoever cooked the breakfast veggies deserves a raise. The spinach and tomatoes tastes 5 star. The staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Great location and the Sheraton patio space had "yard" games and waterfront view. The hotel looks like it was updated, but our bathroom was unsightly. Easy parking. Good value.
First, let me start out by saying it’s a very nice hotel very clean and the location is good right next door there is a Library, across the street is a tropical smoothie and a lucky goat. I’m disappointed that they advertise a heated pool it’s NOT heated actually it’s very very very COLD. I ASKED SEVERAL TIMES FOR THEM TO TURN ON THE HEATER. And. This is my pet peeve with these hotels, advertise things they do not have! But yet again here we are so Nope so I never used it I was very upset about that. This was the main reason I got this hotel because of the advertised heated pool. I could’ve saved myself $300 . It was going to be raining and nothing to do, and the pool was my only source of entertainment. All the Sheratons I’ve been before serve breakfast but this one They charge for EVERYTHING coffee, breakfast that normally is free at Other Sheridan for the money they charge they are really getting over! You know when you’re in a bind you gotta do what you gotta do. The TV won’t display the TV guide. I was in 303. Also if you are a light sleeper, like I am every little noise you hear wakes you and I had to hear the thermostat clicking so loudly it kept me up. The maintenance guy came in and disconnected it. I will not be utilizing this hotel again and I will let my family know that travels a bit will not even be used Sheratons anymore.
1-Star Review: Disappointing Stay at Sheraton Jacksonville I am in Room 217 - stating for 3 nights - 09/29 to 10/02, and planning to check out tomorrow morning. I have been a Bonvoy member for almost a decade, and have stayed at Marriot and Sheraton properties around the World. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this stay was disappointing from start to finish. It was a big mistake to give this property a try. The hotel feels extremely dated, with old, tired rooms that seem stuck in another era. The decor is outdated, the furnishings are worn, and the overall atmosphere does not reflect what you would expect from a Sheraton brand property. What made the experience even worse was the lack of basic guest service. I made a very simple request for a firm pillow, something many hotels can easily accommodate. The staff's response was essentially that they had no options available. For a full-service hotel, being unable to fulfill such a basic request was surprising and frustrating despite explaining them that i was unable to sleep last night due to wrong bedding. The amenities were underwhelming and poorly maintained. Nothing about the property felt modern or guest-focused. The breakfast service was equally disappointing. Service was slow, inattentive, and lacked any sense of hospitality. Breakfast was just basic and staff saying that it is good enough for the price Staff appeared disengaged and uninterested in assisting guests. Most concerning was the overall lack of courtesy from several employees I encountered. Simple greetings, professionalism, and a willingness to help seemed to be missing. Hospitality should be about making guests feel welcome, yet throughout my stay I felt like I was inconveniencing the staff by asking basic questions or requests. For the price charged, this hotel delivers very poor value. Between the outdated rooms, limited amenities, disappointing breakfast experience, and lackluster customer service, I would not recommend staying here and will look elsewhere on future visits to Jacksonville.
