Liz is absolutely amazing at what she does. She has clearly been in the pet industry for a decent amount of time. She is to the point, and blunt because she cares. Unfortunately too many people in this area treat their dogs like queens and kings and can’t handle the truth. She isn’t afraid to tell an owner what needs to be done for the betterment of the dog to live a long, healthy and happy life. My Shepherds have been going there all of their lives. They are jerks but she handles them professionally and keeps them in line - and they respect her for it. If you’re looking for a no nonsense groomer that is looking out for your dogs health, appearance and wellness (internally and externally), you’ve come to the right place! If you can’t handle the truth about an overweight dog, an unhealthy coat or your overall lack of basic dog knowledge on care for your pup, you’re better off going somewhere else. ✌🏽
Do not use this woman! I made an appointment to take my eight month old Maltese to her to be groomed. She required a $50 deposit before I could even see her. After I went to show her the dog, she said the dog had too many mats , and she would have to shave him, I said fine give me my $50 back and I’ll find another groomer. She said you cannot have your $50 back and I left with my dog went to another groomer who only charged me $45 and totally got the mats out of my dog and he looks great and he didn’t have to be shaved . . I contacted Elizabeth requested again my $50 back and told her the dog did not have to be shaved and she should’ve been able to take the dog in without shaving the dog. She still refused to refund my $50 deposit and I am going to report her to the Better Business Bureau And I wanted to tell all of you about the situation by the way she was planning to charge me $75 for the grooming of my puppy. However, Samantha at diamond in the Ruff only charged me $45 and my dog looks beautiful. No shaving necessary.
My Wife took our Yorkshire Terrier in for a grooming Friday and came away very disappointed to say the least. She also brought a picture of how she wanted the cut. We have had many dogs over the last 25 years all of which required grooming. We are loving and experienced dog owners. Our dog was a 4 yr old mini Yorkie LONG HAIR and is now a very very short haired Yorkie much to our complete surprise! During the initial consultation, it was discussed that we wanted a "trim" and to keep the long hair. There was also discussion about some minor matting underneath. My wife was not informed that that would change the cut we requested. I went in to discuss this with the owner and left completely upset as they would not admit their error. I asked why they did not call if there was an issue keeping our request and the answer was, "we discussed this with your wife". This is a complete lie and further documents the utter disregard for our wishes. NEVER AGAIN!
I’ve been taking my dogs here for a couple of years now. I have two Belgian Malinois and a Chihuahua. My Malinois are hard to handle and Elizabeth and her employees are very capable. Elizabeth is a very honest person and always willing to help or give advice on skin issues and food. She will let you know if you need to do more brushing or grooming at home in between visits and it’s not to be rude but it’s because she actually cares about your pet’s quality of life. I value her opinion when it comes to my dogs and often ask her if there’s something I can do for a bug bite or hot spot. I’ve never had any issues with my dogs when returned to me and they always smell nice. Prices are also very reasonable, if anything less than I expected. I’m thankful for someone who is experienced with dogs and knows how to handle them! To the person commenting on cats in the shop: if you actually asked her why they are there you would find out they do not do well as house cats. It’s not like they’re left outside to fend for themselves. They’re obviously taken care of and happy there.
**FAT SHAMING, INSULTING, AGENDA-PUSHING OWNER*** I brought my dog to see Liz at her grooming facility because it was convenient to my residence. Had I known the experience would be so poor, I would have driven the extra few miles for another groomer. Let’s begin… I am a very patient and empathetic person. I understand people get busy, life happens, and we can’t have good days every day. However, when your bad days and lack of professionalism start to impact the interactions you have with animals and owners, there’s a problem. I don’t want to bore everyone with details so I’ll keep it short. I’m an overweight person and she called my dog fat (used those words, specifically), told me I wasn’t healthy either, and told me she didn’t believe in vaccines for dogs. I’ve never heard of a groomer telling owners not to vaccinate their animals. I’ve also never heard of a groomer fat shaming an owner and their pet. I was embarrassed and humiliated. I would never recommend this unhappy, miserable, unkind woman to anyone. Especially if you don’t want your dog to get parvo since they’re not checking vaccine records and encouraging clients to not vaccinate their animals….And especially if you don’t want to be embarrassed and humiliated. 0/10 wouldn’t recommend!!
