We are a military family that has adopted Jax as our home after being stationed here several times over the last 17 years. I am always so proud to show off our little town when friends come to visit, and the souvenir shops in Jax Beach are always part of that tradition..... Unfortunately, yesterday when I tried to help my best friend and her sister who were in town celebrating their 40th birthday purchase some things to take back to their kiddos and family we had a VERY unpleasant experience at this shop. The young man behind the counter was EXTREMELY rude to another patron that was asking if there was anyone else working that could assist her with something. The reply was that he was the only one working and we all needed to move out of the way where he was checking people out... (we were looking at the various necklaces and trinkets that are situated very closely to the register area, not loitering by any means). After a brief conversation with the other patron we decided we were not inclined to spend our money after being spoken to in such a manner, put our stuff down and exited the store. Fine, he was rude and I will no longer take people to that establishment, I was prepared to just let it be.... HOWEVER , the young man who was too busy to be bothered with a customer's question apparently had enough time to stop what he was doing and follow myself and 2 other women out of the store to aggressively ask if we "had a problem".... NOT okay! Even a little bit! What an atrocious experience and impression for our out of town guests! I will only be patronizing Beachside souvenirs from here on out... the selection is better anyway and the customer service is always top notch! Look... I get it, we all get annoyed by the tourist sometimes and they can be a bit much to deal with, but this was NOT THAT. Just simply a young man that felt a little too comfortable being overly aggressive and disrespectful, to that end for his own safety I would hope he doesn't follow anyone else out of the store, some people wouldn't have responded as calmly!

We stopped by here also because we needed a couple of souvenir pieces from Jax Beach. This store has a wide variety of things to look at and purchase. We did well. We bought a Jax Beach frame, a magnet and a pretty red quartz decorative piece. They have decent prices and better quality items. The owner was friendly and helpful. The store is kept tidy and well-organized. There are 2 other souvenir and beach wear stores next to this store.
While shopping, a homeless guy walked in. The guy on duty initially walked in and said we don’t let homeless people come in here. The lack of tack and how he dealt with this man was very inappropriate. While talking to a family member about his use of words being inappropriate, he later addressed me and arguing with me about his experience with the homeless. I guess a man held him up with a knife, and that I could not relate. For starters I’ve never mentioned anything to the man as he proceeded to talk down to this guy and also record him for entertainment use. I was a customer attempting to purchase multiple umbrellas for a day at the beach, but politely went to the store across the street as I receive much better service there. I would’ve understood if I directly called him rude or addressed him but to come and attacked me is inappropriate. Please do not shop here.
Saw a video of a poor woman begin racially profiled. Bad business ethics and professionalism. Cursing at women and getting emotional over them recording his actions. And for those that want to say they never had a problem, you're not like us. So keep that in mind. Be and do better smh
Friendly customer service and the guy was very helpful in giving great suggestions for nice souvenirs. We went here both times and they always greeted us in a nice manner and offered to help. We didn’t get that often as being Asian .
