The grounds are beautiful but something is lacking here. Specifically staff. We arrived Friday evening, the main restaurant was inexplicably closed. Even the gentleman at check in was confused as to why. After a long travel day our only option for dinner was burgers/salads at Alice and Pete’s. Saturday morning Vernon’s was open but challenging. The poor waitress was also the hostess. She was running around like crazy. I couldn’t even get a second coffee. We came here and paid a premium so our son could golf for his birthday. We figured we would sit and relax by the pool for the day. Unfortunately nothing is open! The American gator club looked deserted. The sips bar is closed. This is a Saturday at noon. We asked an employee who said - No problem, scan the QR code and you can order drinks and food to your seats! I tried it out by ordering two drinks. Took close to 30mins to get two cans of seltzer to our chairs. They are running orders through room service so you get an 18% fee before you even tip and it takes FOREVER. This is NOT a fun or relaxing vibe. It is nice hotel grounds with a pub. If you’re here to golf, great. Everything else seems to be an afterthought.

After reading the online reviews, I admit I was nervous about staying here. After a mixup with which room we had reserved, the front desk quickly fixed their mistake and put us in the correct villa. The villa was beautiful, spacious, extremely clean, and no bugs in sight. Other than low water pressure in the shower, I have zero complaints about the room. We had a beautiful wetlands/Pond view, and saw turtles, otters, and tons of birds. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The free shuttle was a great benefit, however we preferred to drive our own vehicle and park in the free parking lot right across from the beach. My family especially my two boys loved the beachside pool. And the private access to the beach was amazing. Every employee that we had interactions with were friendly and accommodating. I cannot speak of the actual hotel rooms because like I said we stayed in a villa, however the lobby and restaurants are gorgeous. I would recommend people disregard the bad reviews, and stay here and see for yourself. We truly had a magical time at this resort. And we did not even golf ha!
I recently stayed here for my friends wedding reception. Overall was a very nice experience. The convention center area where our event took place was very modern looking, and overall gave the impression that the property was well maintained. The hotel also provided a nice handful of drinks, including water, tea, and coffee. Although I wasn’t here to use the golf facilities, I was decently impressed, especially with what I could see from the main lobby. Great place to take photos and relax outside. I was slightly disappointed with the rooms. It reminded me of a Courtyard Hotel I stayed in which hadn’t been renovated since 2010ish, so decently outdated. I also saw a baby cockroach in my room too. Other than these, nothing too much to say both good or bad to add on. One final thing I wanted to share: the Florida hospitality was amazing. Every front desk worker, bartender, event staff member, Starbucks employee, etc were all amazing people. Very very grateful for the wonderful staff here.
I stayed at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa from May 14–18. The arrival experience was impressive, the drive up to the property is beautiful, well-maintained, and gives a true resort-like feel. Unfortunately, the room itself did not match that first impression. It felt very dated, and I experienced several maintenance issues during my stay. The hot water did not function properly, and at times, I had to rely on the bathtub just to access hot water. Additionally, the wood molding in the room appeared to have signs of mold or possible termite damage. On the first night, I requested a room change due to the air conditioning not getting cold enough. I was told the hotel was fully booked and could not accommodate a move. Instead, I was provided with a box fan, reportedly from a dollar store, which was disappointing given the price of the stay. For the rates charged, I expected a much higher standard of room quality and service. While the property itself is attractive, the condition of the rooms and overall experience did not meet expectations.
I was here for several days attending a work conference. I love the Jw brand but this hotel disappointed me a bit. The staff were so nice and pleasant. The front office, valet, the shuttle bus drivers, our bartender mark were great! The event staff were also wonderful. The whole hotel felt muggy and hot, like you couldn't feel any air conditioning. Our room was outdated, furniture seemed old and worn. The bathroom was the same. The water pressure wasn't consistent, and it would get hot then cold and then go back to hot. The AC in our room did not feel like it was pumping out enough air. I woke up every night hot, we even had it to 60 and it did not feel like it was at all. Several people at the conference I talked too also said the same thing. The gym was nice. I did like all the equipment they had and they kept it pretty cool in there. They had 2 pools, one was heated and the other was not. I hope they upgrade the rooms, and figure out the AC issues.
