Our Bernedoodle had bladder stones removed which is a routine common surgery and within less than 24 hours after being home from surgery our dog collapsed in the yard. I called and explained what was going on and Dr. Bissell wanted us to bring him in right away— this is on Easter weekend on Saturday last minute. After seeing the state our dog was in, it was clear to him this was not surgery related and wanted to draw blood and do X-Rays. Within 15 mins of being there, Dr. Bissell came out and said he suspected Addison’s Disease and can confirm once he sees the blood results. Sure enough, everything came back and he was in an Addison crisis. We needed to get our dog to the ER asap for life saving treatment and because of Dr. Bissell’s quick diagnosis, our dog that was in critical condition on death’s door is now going to get a second chance. Thank you Dr. Bissell for your quick life saving diagnosis on a disease that isn’t so easily diagnosed. We took our cat for check up and vaccinations, everyone was so nice, facility was clean. Not gonna lie I dread going to vets cause in my experience here with different vets in area it always costs way more and pushing things that cost more and more. We didn’t experience that at all. Dr. Bissell was so nice and explained everything. Highly recommend. I will taking my old dog next. Nice to go and not feel taken advantage of and high pressure to do more and more.

Cannot recommend Sandbridge and Dr. Bissell enough! Whenever we bring our mini dachshund, (very high strung) the entire staff is always incredibly helpful, attentive and caring and we never feel rushed with Dr. Bissell. On two occasions they were able to see us on very short notice right as they were closing for the day. Most recently, we were a little concerned about a dental cleaning given our dog is so high strung but Dr. Bissell and the entire team put us at ease and made accommodations so the entire process was as smooth as possible. It's a huge huge huge relief having found such a great veterinarian for our pup.

We have known Dr. Bissell for years, and after moving away, one of the things we were most grateful for when we came back to the area was being able to have him caring for our pets again through Sandbridge Veterinary Hospital. There is something incredibly special about finding a veterinarian you trust so completely that, no matter how much time passes or how far you move, you know exactly who you want caring for your animals. Dr. Bissell has been there for us through every stage, from puppies taking their first steps into our family to the heartbreaking journey to the rainbow bridge. Through every moment, his compassion, knowledge, honesty, and genuine love for animals have never changed. He doesn’t just treat pets, he builds relationships with the families who love them. He takes the time to listen, explain, and make sure you feel confident in the care your pet is receiving. Most importantly, you can tell that he truly cares.
