  This review goes to the store owner, Jill—the person responsible for bringing additional awesomeness to the already amazing beach town of Fernandina Beach. Her arrival on Amelia Island and the subsequent opening of Sand and Sage Mystic Shoppe have drastically changed lives. Before I even begin to talk about the store, I want to give credit to Jill for her humanitarian and non-dualistic outlook on spirituality and all living beings on Planet Earth. Many people from all walks of life, socioeconomic backgrounds, and diverse life experiences have walked into this store and been welcomed with open arms. Jill has welcomed many with open arms and, more importantly, with a level of respect that transcends any of the five senses. To date, Sand and Sage Mystic Shoppe has attracted respectful individuals from all belief systems. I must credit this observation to Jill’s authenticity. After all, “we attract what we are.” Noble intent begets noble visitors. Jill also puts a tremendous amount of effort into Sand and Sage, both during store hours and outside of them. She’s a gem. Anyway, about the store! Sand and Sage, in addition to being a metaphysical shoppe, offers cosmetic items, dried herbs, supplements, hygiene products, and a skincare line called Nea Naturals, made by Jill herself. While Sand and Sage Mystic Shoppe is indeed a metaphysical shoppe, it is so much more! Boho clothing is sold here, along with a variety of other non-mainstream clothing items. The clothing section is small, yet it has good-quality items. Of course, for those inclined toward matters of spirituality, there are crystals, candles, incense, books, and items for spiritual use, such as tarot cards, oracle cards, runes, and more. Fun fact: the greatest asset to a spiritual practice is the understanding of oneself as a spiritual being, which, from my perspective, is the greatest asset of a metaphysical practice. When the self is truly and authentically acknowledged as divine, we can begin to see divinity in others, whether it is obvious or latent. The greatest gift brought to this island during my time in Fernandina Beach is a metaphysical shop with a store owner who embodies authenticity in her intentions. This is the beauty of a spiritual path as it evolves from dualism to non-dualism, and I’m happy to have Jill pioneering this benevolent endeavor and bringing this beautiful store to Amelia Island.
