Just a beautiful place for people to celebrate the Lord and meet with others. A very welcoming community. As a snowbird I have attended masses for the month of February. Thank You for your hospitality.
I recently decided I wanted to get closer to my spirituality, being relatively new to Catholicism as an adult I began my journey with getting my first born child baptized. I called and asked what where the requirements for baptism two months prior to coordinating the event. I believe I misunderstood when I was taking my notes when they where discussed. I went on mistakenly believing that I did not need either god-parent confirmed. We get to the week before the baptism and I sent in the only documentation that I believed was needed, which is the baptism preparation class, then I get a phone call letting me know it was not received and I sent it again. On this same phone call I am informed that I need one god-parent confirmed or I need to reschedule the entire event. I let them know that I could not reschedule the event since I had family flying into the state to be at this event and I had already coordinated a party for 25 people that had scheduled time off to be there. While I was still at work, planning a party and then I needed to find a relative that was confirmed. The staff that where assisting me did say that they could step in but I know that is not an ideal situation therefore I asked everyone and we did have a confirmed relative. We paid $150.00 for 3 baptism preparation classes. I get a call on Saturday by a staff member and I was told "to get my self together" and that "the other staff member is on vacation and this is inconveniencing them since they only get X number of days off" in a very disrespectful and belittling tone. Throughout this whole situation I have been very apologetic and understanding in the effect that I was mistaken. I do not think that the lack of grace or sympathy for someone who is new to this community is a good reflection on the teachings of Christ. Just because they have been working in their community for many years and have the knowledge that someone like I, do not. Should not allow them to berate them over the phone in that manner.
Easy parking, very kind and friendly people. The mass, and the Priest were wonderful. Thank you.
Father Bernadine is the most inspirational priest. I leave there inspired and ready to face another hectic week with a different mind set. Whenever I’m in Saint Augustine, this is my saving grace. Thank you so much.
1srt time here. Very friendly, loved the homily. Seemed very family/community oriented.
