After a Ghost tour that lasted longer than expected we were able to find this gem. A lot of places were closing but not this restaurant. They quickly sat us on their second floor and then our server Caleb took our order. He was very friendly and attentive towards us. We ordered the Octopus Gallego which tasted amazing, the octopus was cooked good and the potatoes were perfect. The fried calamari was okay and great sauce. The winner of the night was the Bao Buns. Omg so flavorful and melted in your mouth. 10/10. The atmosphere is also nice, great decor.
What an amazing experience; music, atmosphere and service were fantastic. What a pleasant find, hubby and I walked in with intentions of only having a few drinks and watch a World Cup game which quickly turned into a fine dinning experience. Ribeye was cooked to perfection and short ribs melted in my mouth. If you live locally make it one of your regular spots and/or if you are visiting it’s a must try! 5 stars in every category. Bartender Felicia was charismatic and made me a perfect Long Island ❤️
St. George Restaurant has clearly been going through a transformation — they changed management about two months ago, and you can feel the difference the moment you walk in. The energy is brighter, the service is sharper, and the whole place has that “we’re rebuilding this into something special” momentum. The menu leans Latin‑fusion with a steakhouse backbone, and it’s focused in the best way. Bright citrus, bold seasoning, grilled proteins, and a few comfort‑leaning dishes that fit the historic district perfectly. It’s not one of those giant tourist menus — it’s tight, intentional, and everything coming out of the kitchen looked well‑executed. One of the highlights was the live performer they had on a Sunday afternoon — the woman in the photo. She wasn’t soulful; she was Latin, spicy, and full of fire, the kind of performer who brings the room to life just by stepping up to the mic. Mid‑day live music downtown is rare, and she made the whole experience feel vibrant and alive. And yes — the man in the yellow shirt is José, the owner. He’s exactly the kind of owner you want in a place like this: present, welcoming, and clearly invested in every detail. You can tell he’s proud of what they’re building. St. George Restaurant is a fresh, flavorful addition to St. George Street, and it’s absolutely worth a stop.
Had dinner here tonight. I ordered the grouper dinner and it was delicious. I cleaned my plate. I also had a cocktail called when the tide falls and it was good. Different. But really good. Anyways. The reason this place didn’t get a 5 star is my hubbies meal. He has the ribeye and it was just so underwelming for the price. It was so bland and lacked flavor. I had a bite of it and it was missing everything. They do have some really good brussel sprouts. We did bring up the bland steak and they took off 15% from the steak which was about 8 bucks.
We ordered five dishes, and most of the food was good. Unfortunately, the steak on one plate had an unpleasant taste that made us question its freshness. We brought this to our server’s attention, and he took the plate back to the kitchen. The disappointment was how the situation was handled afterward. When I requested the check, our server explained that we would still be charged for the pork belly and fries because we had eaten a few pieces. I agreed to pay, even though we no longer wanted the dish. However, we were then told we had to take the food with us or speak with the owners. This was confusing and unnecessary, especially since I had already agreed to the charge. A simple acknowledgment of our concern and a clear, respectful resolution would have made a significant difference. While we enjoyed most of the meal, the way this issue was handled left us disappointed.
