I saw Dr. Steve Rigaud for the first time today and left feeling genuinely relieved. Before going, I joked on Facebook that trying a new doctor is like spinning a wheel - are you going to get the kind who listens and works with you, or the kind who dismisses everything and tells you to just lose weight or drink more water? Thankfully, he was absolutely the doctor who actually listens. The facility is newer, everything was clean and the entire process was easy. When I called to make the appointment, I had never been there before and so I didn’t have a specific doctor in mind, I just needed to get a physical done by a certain deadline. He happened to have availability for the next week, which worked out great. I completed all of my paperwork online before the appointment, checked in when I arrived, and only waited a few minutes before I was called back. His medical assistant was fantastic - friendly, patient, and took the time to go through my history, vitals, and every concern I wanted to mention. When Dr. Rigaud came in, he took his time, asked questions, covered my history thoroughly, and actually talked through everything with me. He didn’t rush. He offered a referral to a new specialist when I explained I’d been having a bad experience with my current one. He checked to make sure I’ve had all appropriate diagnostics and screenings for my age, we discussed options and a plan moving forward, and I left feeling like I was heard and supported. As a woman with a history of endometriosis, adenomyosis, Hashimoto’s, and a long track record of mixed doctor experiences, this was a huge relief. I’m very happy I ended up with him and would absolutely recommend him.
Dr. Steve Rigaud had no concern for me as a patient, no bedside manner, was rude and did not even allow me to finish a sentence. I broke into tears due to feeling ignored and not having a doctor that understood my previous history. I’ve come to this hospital for the same issue in the past and received quality care! My privacy was none of his concern, HIPAA regulations were not followed at Baptist health on Old Saint Augustine Road.
